I am getting sick and tired of posting these. This is the second one in as many days where police in California were looking for a Hispanic hit and run driver in the Bay Area. Whether or not it was in the San Francisco city limits, Newscums policies are behind this.

OAKLAND, Calif. -

A male driver who was described as 40-years-old with a pencil-thin mustache struck and killed a 4-year-old boy Saturday afternoon before fleeing the scene, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of a collision in the 1300 block of 100th Avenue at about 2:30 p.m. and found the injured boy, identified as Oakland resident Luis Hernandez, Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason said.

Hernandez was transported to San Leandro Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Thomason.

The van's driver is believed to have stopped briefly after he hit Hernandez before getting back into the van and fleeing the area, Thomason said.

The van is described as late '80s or early '90s, faded black, American-made and with a spare tire and ladder mounted on the back doors, as well as white horizontal stripes along the sides and chrome rims and bumpers. A partial license plate number of 6C5 was recorded.

The driver is described as a Spanish-speaking Hispanic man, about 40 years old, 6 feet tall and 220 pounds with a long black ponytail and a skinny mustache. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Officer Michael Cardoza at 510-867-7111.
