In what came as a shock to California's most rabidly pro-LGBT extremists, Gov. Gavin Newsom has vetoed a bill that would have allowed judges to remove children from the custody of parents who oppose "gender transitions" for their own offspring.
In an apparent attempt to appear more "moderate" ahead of the 2024 presidential election – Newsom actually thinks he has a chance at winning the White House – Newsom refused to affix his signature to Assembly Bill 957, coauthored by Assemblywoman Lori Wilson (D-Suisun City) and State Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco).
As some predicted, Newsom and his allies put forth this extreme legislation, which directly interferes with parental rights by separating children from their parents, only to intentionally backtrack more towards the political center to attract the most potential votes.
In a statement to Californians, Newsom said that the state's court system can already consider a parent's support or rejection for their own children's "gender transitions" as a factor in whether or not to allow them custody in divorce battles.
"I urge caution when the Executive and Legislative branches of state government attempt to dictate – in prescriptive terms that single out one characteristic – legal standards for the Judicial branch to apply," Newsom wrote in a statement. "Other-minded elected officials, in California and other states, could very well use this strategy to diminish the civil rights of vulnerable communities."
"Moreover, a court, under existing law, is required to consider a child's health, safety, and welfare when determining the best interests of a child in these proceedings, including the parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity."

Newsom still emphasizing other LGBTQ+ legislation he recently signed to show he fully supports mutilating children's genitals

To be sure that he does not lose the support of his LGBT gender-bender base, Newsom made sure to emphasize all the other homosexual and transgender legislation he has recently signed to show his support for child genital mutilation.
One such bill targets public school districts in California that refuse to keep students' gender transitions a secret from their own parents. Newsom claims that parents who are worried about their own children being secretly groomed at public schools into adopting a transgender lifestyle, complete with permanent body alterations, should not because they are just being "ginned up" by misinformation.
"This is a phony veto to try to get the vote," one commenter wrote simply about Newsom's obvious political play to try to pivot more towards the center of the aisle, which will not work.
"Anyone who trusts that backstabbing pile of lying progressive dung is a damned fool," wrote another.
"Warning: Newsom is no moderate," wrote another.
"He is the typical globalist handler, a liar, and a psychotic. He will do much more damage than Brandon (Joe Biden) ever will. He plays the same as Justin Trudeau, Jacinda Ardern and Spain's Pedro Sánchez by turning their countries into woke dictatorships. Remember what Yuri Bezmenov once said about "benevolent dictators" – don't be fooled by this and don't let the U.S. turn into Canada or Spain."
Others speculated that Newsom purposely had California's far-left legislature pass these outrageous laws just so he could publicly veto them "to appear reasonable."
"This is because Newsom has his eye on the White House," this same person added. "If elected, he will revert back to a hard-left liberal."
