Mueller probes Ukrainian oligarch’s $150K donation to Trump

Robert Mueller’s office is reportedly investigating a $150,000 donation that a Ukrainian billionaire made to President Trump’s charity in 2015.

The Ukrainian oligarch, Victor Pinchuk, allegedly made the large donation in exchange for a 20-minute “appearance” that Trump made via video to a conference in Kiev, according to the New York Times.

It was the largest donation made to Trump’s charity by anyone except Trump himself for 2015.

The donation was solicited by Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, who had his office raided on Monday in what appears to be a separate investigation.

Investigators for the special counsel subpoenaed the Trump Organization this year for records about business with foreign nationals, the paper said.

As Mueller’s investigation appears to be closing in on the president’s inner circle, Trump has lambasted the special counsel in public comments.

“It’s a disgraceful situation,” he said on Monday. “It’s a total witch hunt. I’ve been saying it for a long time.”

What is wrong with that? Is that illegal? They ask Trump to do a video and ask what he charges. He says I won't charge you, just make a donation to my charity, I'll have our lawyer call you about it. Is that illegal for private business people to do this? Do someone a favor for a conference and instead of charging them a fee tell them to donate to your charity to help the folks?
