Anarchist group preparing demonstration at S.P.P. meetings

An anarchist group is planning a protest during Security and Prosperity Partnership meetings being held in Montebello, Quebec about 80 km east of Ottawa.

The group called P.G.A. Bloc Ottawa is preparing demonstrations in hope of disrupting the meetings between Prime Minister Stephen Harper, U.S. President George Bush and Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

The three leaders will be discussing the S-P-P at Chateau Montebello on August 20th and 21st.

Quebec provincial police say people have the right to peacefully protest but they will be there to protect area residents.

The Council of Canadians, after renting a public facility in the Municipality of Papineauville (about 4 miles from Montebello), were bluntly informed by the hall’s management that the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police), SQ (Security Quebec) and the U.S. Army will not allow their meeting even though it is scheduled on the day before the SPP meeting! In fact, these security officials declared that they intend to enforce a 25 kilometer (about 15 miles) blackout around the Chateau Montebello where Bush, Harper and Calderon will be meeting to advance their agenda of "deep integration" of Mexico, Canada and the United States.

“It is deplorable that we are being prevented from bringing together a panel of writers, academics and parliamentarians to share their concerns about the Security and Prosperity Partnership with Canadians,â€

Kind of like FEMA and the military did after Hurricane Katrina.
