Promises Made, Promises Broken

Every political candidate, regardless of the race, regardless of the office, offers up promises of integrity, fidelity, transparency and accessibility. Those who manage to hang on to their promises are rare. Even more so, because when the political world discovers they actually took their oaths and promises seriously, their brethren join hands with the opposition to destroy them. Our representatives have worked overtime to not only develop a culture of corruption but to perfect it.

Here in Nevada we have a law on the books preventing anyone who isn’t an attorney in good standing, that individual cannot be a member of the bar. However, the woman currently in charge of the Nevada Bar has no standing in the state as an attorney, and in fact, doesn’t even hold a valid degree. I personally know of one situation where an attorney with high scores in the bar exam was not allowed to pass because he committed the unforgivable sin of pointing out a sitting judge’s obvious incompetence and malfeasance from the bench.

Moving somewhat higher up the power scale, we find Harry Reid and his baby boy. Both are pure political animals. Harry has yet to explain why, when he only spent one year in private practice as an attorney, he happens to be one of the wealthiest sitting US Senators. Check out this link. At the most, Harry’s yearly salary reached $174,000. There were years when his salary was below six figures, so where did all the millions come from? Harry isn’t talking.

As for baby Reid, Rory is nearly a carbon copy of daddy. His campaign site bio reads like it was written by someone who knows nothing about the electorate and put together snippets of information based on what they thought the voters might fall for. Not impressive. Does anyone really believe the young hormone-flooded Reid Junior actually was more turned on by a map of Nevada over a Farah Fawcett poster?

Over in Washington the Democrat party is back to using the “culture of corruptionâ€
