Thread: Question.

My husband was listening to a liberal talk radio station......giddy with their win on the stimulus package. But they said something I hadn't heard and wondered if anyone else did. The jobs being created are to be gotten through a lottery. A Kennedy idea. Anyone else hear that?

Lets see, what are the requirements to qualify for a ticket to ride....

1. must be a minority
2. must be either a visa holder or a hold over from a visa
3. must be in the country illegally and have a matricula consular card
4. must be in the process of foreclosure
5. must be employed in the construction industry, agriculture, or meat processing.
6. must promise to vote Democratic when given citizenship

Can anybody think of any other requirements that might be usefull to the Obamanation administration?

I'm not finding anything when I search, and I think we really need a link on this.

Now, it's true that many of the jobs will be government jobs, and most people think that all government jobs are reserved for political cronies and minorities. That is not the case! Some are, most are not. People tend to be daunted by the application process, which is extremely different from the corporate application process, so they become discouraged too easily. In fact, many of the tips given to get to the hiring manager for a corporate job are against the rules and may even hurt you in a government job search.

I have found a lot of buzz about a "job lottery", but it seems to be the buzz word showing winners and losers of the pork in the stimulus bill. Those getting large portions are referring to it as "Winning a job lottery".

If the radio personality that crazybirds hubby heard is correct and there is an actual lottery, I would like to add the following qualification:


English is optional, but candidate MUST speak Spanish.

The radio station is from this neck of the woods.....but he said there was big dittie about it......from what he said this was about the road construction jobs and such......a Kennedy (the young one) idea and the only way to "fair".... you filled out like an application and then all acceptable applicants were placed in a lottery and then they picked from that. All I know is anything they have planned for here is something heavy duty where no one but young people would probably qualify.

It was the first I heard of it, and since I didn't hear it myself, it could have just been a discussion of options thrown out.....who knows. Just curious if anyone else heard that. He listens to that station and then rants and raves of, we're gone as a nation, etc. etc.

I'd hate to think that would be the future way of who gets the job. Stand about as much a chance as winning the real lottery. They didn't say what made the decision of acceptable applicants, experience, education or anything. We know "a citizen or legal resident" won't count, but every area around here that is on the list for road work, are all very high illegal areas.
