I remember years ago, my family had a discussion of the meaning of the word "raza or razza".

We wanted to know why some of us were white, some brown, some of us were brunettes, blondes or redheads and some of us had brown, blue or hazel eyes. We didn't all look alike, so how could we all be related?
The answer was, we we all of the white race, but ONE ethnic group.

Raza does not mean "race", as there are only THREE races on earth: Asian, Black and Caucasian (think of it as ABC).

The correct interpretation of the word raza means "nationality"

Mexicans took the term for themselves, so in essence the NCLR is for Mexicans. Much has been written about Mexicans refusing to be called white or caucasian, which is what they are.
