The scene in the picture is not occurring in the United States. It is happening in Chile because of expected increases in the price of natural gas. Other countries like Tunisia and Algeria have faced similar citizen protests due to rising food prices. Will the United States face similar outbursts of civil unrest?

Recently we have seen pictures of civil unrest around the world due to rising commodity prices and because of price increases for some government services and subsidies forced by budget cuts.
