Oct 29 October snowfall records broken in Wyoming - A slow-moving storm dumped as much as 3 feet of snow on Colorado and the western Plains on Thursday, breaking snowfall records for the entire month of October in Wyoming, says USA Today. In the Denver area, it was the biggest October snowstorm since 1997.

USA Today doesn't bring up the fact that the storm was a record-breaker
until the 7th paragraph of their story. I don't know if that was intentional
    or not.

Whiteout conditions were predicted Thursday for parts of eastern Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, and many roads - including stretches of I-25 and I-80 - were closed.
