Congressman Don Young urges the opening of ANWR and the development of American Energy Sources. His bill, HR 6107, the American Energy Independence and Price Reduction Act, would open ANWR and use the approximately $200 billion in federal revenue generated to develop Alternative Energy sources

Good, but I think using the federal revenue generated to develop energy alternatives should be emphasized. We need to have some new exportable products to sell to developing countries and if we can get the costs down on these alternatives it would be a lot better to sell them that than to have oil consumption and, even worse, nuclear power. Nuclear power might be fine in the US and France--but do we need any more countries doing what Iran is doing to us now? Don't you think Libya or Somalia trying to go to nuclear fuel would be another nigthmare---but solar power could be a real plus. They ARE going to modernize, someday--we should be selling them items that can do this. But we should be making agreements that if they modernize they won't plan to send their unwanted people here.

If we run low on oil it will not only be the price of energy that goes higher---everything that is produced from oil will also be much more costly or difficult to produce. We need to have petroleum that will be available for future products we want to make--and not be wasteful in how it is used in the present. Let's get this economy going---Drill but also develop other sources of energy.
