Phoenix cab driver stabbed by man in mariachi garb

    http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/ss/local/92343.php

    The Associated Press

PHOENIX - A Phoenix cabbie is hospitalized with multiple stab wounds after she says she was attacked by a fare who was dressed in a mariachi outfit and carrying a guitar.
The 30-year-old victim is in critical condition.

The woman's Estrella Taxi cab, which the assailant took, was found abandoned several hours later in west Phoenix.
The woman told police that she had picked up the suspect at a west Phoenix home and after he had her drive to the area of 35th Avenue and Washington, he attacked her, apparently with a knife.

The victim says the man forced her into the trunk of the cab and than began driving around before she was able to escape about 4 a.m. Wednesday.

It seems that too many people are still judging books by their covers (have to admit I am guilty of that). I just worry that anyone covered in Muslim garb (the burka covering from head to toe with only eye slits) will become the next ruse. How does one know if it is a man or woman you are dealing with?

Glad I was never a cabbie. These people have a job WAY riskier than even a liquor store owner! At what cost is your life? As a driver, you are basically at a fare's mercy if they decide to do something to you.
