PD: Rocket found in Buckeye home, neighbors evacuated

Neighboring homes were evacuated after a rocket was found in a foreclosed home.

BUCKEYE, AZ - Authorities say neighbors were evacuated and a bomb squad called in to investigate after a new homeowner found a rocket in a Buckeye home Friday.

Buckeye Police Department spokesman Jared Griffiths said the new owner of the foreclosed home, near Interstate 10 and Watson Road, discovered the military rocket that appears to mount under a jet.

Griffiths said that at this time it is unknown whether the rocket is live or not and about a dozen neighboring homes have been evacuated as a precaution while the scene is being investigated.
