Ronald Reagan statue unveiled at Capitol building

Ronald Reagan statue unveiled at Capitol building

WASHINGTON (AP) — A teary-eyed Nancy Reagan watched as a bronze statue of her late husband, Ronald Reagan, was unveiled in the U.S. Capitol building in Washington Wednesday.

A blue-cloth cover was pulled from the seven-foot statue of the 40th U.S. president as Mrs. Reagan, 87, and a crowd packed with Reagan-era policymakers, looked on in the Capitol's Rotunda. The statue cast Reagan flashing a grin.

Reagan, seated next to her husband's friend, former Treasury Secretary James A. Baker III, said that it was nice to return to the Rotunda for a happy occasion. Ronald Reagan, who was president from 1981 to 1989, lay in state at the Capitol after his death at 93 in 2004.

I wonder if the more than 3 MILLION illegal aliens he gave amnesty to in 1986,

    and all of their kids,

and all of the people they have sponsored to come here,

will stop by to pay homage.

I wonder who did pay for it, as the article doesn't say what it cost or who paid for it.

I found this on another site.

The Reagan statue was commissioned and paid for by the privately-run Ronald Reagan Foundation.

Foundation representatives did not say how much the statue cost.
At least the taxpayers didn't have to pay for it.
