See What Obama Does When Russian Fighter Jet Threatens A US Navy Ship



The U.S. military is condemning Russia after a Russian fighter jet aggressively taunted an American warship in the Black Sea this weekend. However, the White House has yet to release a statement regarding the incident

According to Army Col. Steve Warren, the jet exhibited “provocative behavior” by making “numerous close-range low-altitude passes” over the USS Donald Cook. The Navy made numerous attempts to contact Russia, but to no avail.

“The aircraft did not respond to multiple queries and warnings from the Donald Cook,” he said. “The event ended without incident after approximately 90 minutes. This provocative and unprofessional Russian action is inconsistent with international protocols and previous agreements on the professional interaction between our militaries.”

Witnesses say the jet appeared to be unarmed, though the 90 minutes of provocative behavior certainly wasn’t provoked or coincidental.

The USS Donald Cook, which carries helicopters, was deployed last week off the coast of Romania in response to Russia’s takeover of the Crimean region of Ukraine.

Col. Warren called the Russians’ behavior “unwarranted” and “not conducive” to an already “unstable environment.” President Obama, on the other hand, is still trying to “place nice” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, relying on diplomacy to handle these issues.
