HARRISBURG, Pa. -- More than 100 truckers and others are rallying on the steps of the Pennsylvania Capitol asking lawmakers to cut state taxes on their fuel.

Some truckers have been driving around the Capitol and honking their horns.

Protest organizer Mark Kirsch says truckers are being squeezed by the high cost of diesel fuel at the same time consumers face higher prices for gasoline and home heating oil.

State taxes amount to 32 cents a gallon for gasoline and 38 cents a gallon for diesel.

The state says it needs the tax revenue to repair roads and bridges.
