City and region moving ahead in green energy

The San Diego region may become America's capital for producing fuel from algae, a small but promising source of renewable energy. But San Diego already has become a leader in solar power generation, adding to its green credentials.
Last week, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced that San Diego had placed third among its top 20 “Green Power Partners.â€NO AMNESTY

Borrego Solar plans to sell power

El Cajon (San Diego County)-based Borrego Solar said it has obtained $30 million in financing that will allow it to expand beyond its commercial-solar-installations business to owning systems and selling the power to others.
The deal should allow the company to install more than $100 million in systems, or 20 megawatts – primarily for schools, governments and businesses – over the next year.
Using power-purchase agreements, Borrego Solar will make deals with customers in which it installs, owns and maintains the solar panels on their roofs and charges them only for the power produced, Chief Executive Mike Hall said.

Why not use, and not tax, the resources available to us.
As long as the American people don't get stuck paying for the company and/or the company hires Americans only and/or the Dem cheats are not invested in the company so they won't promote this company over other Amercian companies doing the same thing, I like the idea.
