GOP Senator: Tea Party Challenges ‘Killed Off’ Chances for Republican Majority in Senate
    CNN

Sen. Dick Lugar said challenges by Tea Party candidates are partly to blame for the Republicans not having a majority in the Senate.

Lugar, a six-term Republican senator from Indiana, is up for re-election in 2012 and facing a primary challenge from a Tea Party-backed Republican opponent.

Lugar told CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday that he’s the best chance for the GOP to hold on to his Senate seat, and that similar challenges by Tea Party candidates are part of the reason Republicans are in the minority in the Senate.

“Republicans lost the seats before in Nevada and New Jersey for example and Colorado where there were people who claimed that they wanted somebody who was more of their Tea Party aspect, but in doing so they killed off the Republican chances for majority,” he said. “This is one of the reasons why we have a minority in the Senate right now.”

Lugar — who has been critical of the Tea Party in the past — implied that if Tea Party supporters want to see Republican seat gains in 2012, they’ll support the candidates who have the best chance of winning, and that means the existing Senate Republicans.

“A Republican majority in the Senate is very important and Republicans who are running for re-election ought to be supported by people who want to see that majority,” he said. “I think the majority of Tea Party people understand that, too.”

The Potus 2012 is important......Getting the dictator traitor out is only one step.
The Senate and House 2012 are do or die.. That way if and when the GOP blow it on potus.. As in RINO..
We may have a gasp of air...
Things sure are frightning...Incumbants must go. The seats will be there if we can grab them.
Republican Senate Incumbents (in alphabetical order based on state)

    Arizona

Jon Kyl is currently serving the state of Arizona as a Senator along with John McCain. Taking office in 1995, he has currently serving his third term in the office. He is also the serving minority whip, or the second ranking member of his political party in the Senate. He currently serves on the Subcommittee on Human Right and the Law, the Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Citizenship, the Subcommittee on Health Care, the Subcommittee on Social Security, Pensions, and Family Policy, and the Subcommittee on Taxation, IRS Oversight, and Long-Term Growth (where he is the ranking member).
Even though he will be 70 by the time the 2012 Senate races come around, he is still expected to run given the massive amount of support he has received from his home state. He has yet to make an official announcement.
    Indiana

Richard Green Lugar, commonly referred to as Dick, is a six-term Senator who has been a member of the Senate since 1977. He is currently the senior Republican Senator in this House of Congress. While serving in Congress, he has focused on globally eradicating weapons of mass destruction including nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. Given he won the election of 2006 with 87 percent of the vote, he is expected to run again in the 2012 Senate elections. The 2006 election cycle brought him no Democratic opponent.
If the control of the Senate should shift back to the Republican Party, Lugar should be declared President pro tempore, who is the second highest ranking politician of the Senate, serving directly under the Vice President.
    Maine

Olympia Snow is a three-term Senator who serves the great state of Maine. She is currently one of the most popular U.S. Senators, based on both constituent voting percentages and media coverage. Both Time Magazine and Congressional Quarterly have showed her importance to the Republican Party in the Senate, with Time declaring her one of the Ten Best Senators. She serves on 11 committees and subcommittees
Snow currently has a 79 percent approval rating among her constituents. While she has not made an official announcement, she is expected to seek another term in the U.S. Senate.
    Mississippi

Roger Frederick Wicker is a first term Senator from Mississippi. He was appointed to the Senate by Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour after Trent Lott retired from the post on December 18, 2007. He officially won the seat in a special election that was held in November, 2008, getting 55 percent of the vote. Lott retired following controversy stirred up during Strom Thurmond's Presidential campaign and became a D.C. based lobbyist.
Since Wicker will not be serving a full term in the Senate due to the nature of his seat, he is expected to run again in 2012, seeking his first full term in the Senate. He has made no official announcement.
    Nevada

Dean Heller took over the former two-term Republican, John Ensign's seat in the senate after he admitted to having an affair with a campaign staffer. John Ensign was going to keep his senate seat and try for reelection but changed his mind and announced on March 7, 2011 that he would be not be seeking reelection and resigning. Governor Brian Sandoval appointed Dean Heller to take over John Ensigns senate seat and he will be serving out the remainder of Ensign's term. Dean Heller announced that he will be running to keep his seat in the senate in 2012.
    Tennessee

A first-term Senator who barely won the election in 2006, Robert "Bob" Corker may be holding one of the most hotly contested seats in the Senate come 2012. In 2006, he won by narrow margins, gaining only 50.7 percent of the vote. Corker has been a strong supporter of the Iraq War and expressed doubt during the Economic Recovery Act hearing, claiming that many of the companies the government was trying to save could not be brought back.
He is expected to run again in 2012, even though he has made no official statement. According to media reports, he already has competition, including his rival in 2006, Harold Ford, Jr., and country music star Hank Williams, Jr. Williams has expressed interest in challenging Corker or the Senate seat, and Ford has already begun fundraising for a re-election campaign.
    Utah

Barring Orrin Hatch retiring or experiencing severe medical issues before the 2012 Senate elections, he is expected to run once again. He has been serving in the Senate since 1977, making 2012 his bid for a seventh term. Hatch is a member of several political committees, including; the U.S Senate Committee on Finance, the Select Committee on Intelligence, the committee on the Judiciary, the Health, Labor, and Pensions Committee, and the Joint committee on Taxation. In addition to being a U.S. Senator, he is also an accomplished musician and author, having published the book Square Peg: confessions of a Citizen Senator.
Hatch is expected to continue his career in the Senate.
    Wyoming

John Barrasso is a first term Senator who received his initial seat by appointment due to the death of Craig L. Thomas. He was formally elected in a special election in 2008 to finish out Thomas's term. He is expected to run once again in 2012, or at least has yet to declare that he won't. He received over 70 percent of the vote in the special election. He is currently serving on the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, the Committee on Environment and Public Works, the Committee on Foreign Relations, and the Committee on Indian Affair, which is is Vice Chairman of.

have faith in the American People ... Liberal's / Independants / Republicans are Pissed like never before... Step 1. dont believe the press; either side of the isle ... Obama is so bad he couldnt beat a Mister Potato Head Turd ... not Mr. Potato Head ... I'm talking a TURD ... No Eye's No Lips.... just a Turd... but he did that to himself ....

Now with that said the only way to loose the POTUS, the House and the Senate and that is to keep electing RINOs or people that the Independants will have nothing to do with... thats the RINOs and a few of our POTUS candadates

less than 28% are Liberal; less than 30% are Republican .... all the rest are INDEPENDANTS ... and that is who will decide the election

President Obama’s unpopularity played a large role in the election of Republicans in Democratic districts 2010. Therefore, the reasoning goes, Obama will drag other Democrats to defeat in 2012 Along with his sorry butt. OK a turd could beat him...

I have few liberal friends but those that I have spoken too thinks Obama did to the Democratic party the same thing that Bush did to the Republican Party... Scorched Earth Policy that scorched the ground that the party walked on as well ... Democrats are running away from Democrats the same way that The Tea Party is Runnuing away from the Republican Party

We didnt leave the Republican Party ... the Party Left Us
Dem's are not leaving the Democratic Party... the Party Left them

Itys going to get much worse before it gets better ... but there will be several more House cleanings in DC before we get it back under control.... Look for a MAJOR Wipe out of Incumbants in 2012; almost as bad as the 2010 election ... Incumbant beside your name is a very bad thing unless you are doing what your constituants want done and many of these politicians have done the opposite

this is going to be another vicious election cycle; Obama will loose UNLESS a politician representing the Republican Party is just as bad or worse than Obama ... Independants will sit it out and so will the Party Base ...... its not good enough to say anybody but Obama ... America cannot handle anymore Drunks or Crack Heads holding Office

Lugar and all of the other RINO's have to be fired for this country to ever have a glimmer of a chance; these fruit cakes as well as the Liberal Equivelant sold America and its citizens down the river for a few wompum and beads... they only want to hold power at this point in the hopes they can stave off going to prison ... yes it is that bad in my opinion
