Socorro Police Solve Biggest Heist In City History

SOCORRO, Texas -- Socorro detectives and federal agents said they've solved the biggest heist in Socorro history.

Late on the evening of March 22, the driver of a vehicle with an attached trailer full of 1,232 24" Dell Monitors parked and went inside for dinner. When the driver returned, the trailer and computer monitors were gone.

The next day, the police activated the vehicle's GPS tracking.

On April 15, customs and border patrol agents discovered the trailer making its way back from Juarez, Mexico, without any monitors. Authorities arrested the driver, and received another tip.

Authorities then searched a warehouse in south central El Paso. Inside, they discovered 732 of the stolen monitors.

Several other stolen monitors were located soon after by Customs and Border Patrol agents.

One man, Alfonso Talamantes-Lopez, faces felony charges.
Martin Andreu was arrested in connection with information discovered at the warehouse.

Jose Luis Hernandez, was also identified and implicated in the theft.
