With the retail sale of alcohol illegal in Benton County, police said a number of Rogers residents have made bootlegging of alcohol into a lucrative side job.

Most seriously, beer is ending up with minors.

On Saturday, three uniformed officers from the Rogers Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit put on bullet-proof vests and visited six houses suspected of selling alcohol. Officers found large quantities of beer at two of the houses and cited those residents.
