    A special moment with soldiers

I want to share this. I believe it is every Saturday that a group of people go to DFW Ariport and greet our soldiers. We have a great welcome wagon there and a lounge just for our soldiers.

I know the beautiful lady that wrote this and she never misses a day. She's dedicated.

For those of you that weren't able to get to DFW airport to greet the 105 soldiers Saturday morning, Veterans Day - we had a mob!! People elbow to elbow inside the terminal - flowing onto the street and across the street to welcome these men and women home for leave. There is a continguency of DFW police and fire fighters there each flight but this day we even had the K9 dog and his trainer. For those of us who were there it was exciting and made us even prouder of our country and those that defend it. Seeing the soldiers faces as they realize we're there just for them never gets old.
    This was just uplifting.

    Dixie

What a very special lady Dixie, please thank her for me.
When I came back fron Nam I was greeted by four young "ladies" who spit at me and called me a baby killer, it went downhill from there.
What your friend and the others are doing will mean so much to these Vets, not just on their return home but for the rest of their lives.
    May God bless them all.

I'm so sorry you had to endure that MountainDog. I recall those days well. A friend of mine, in the military, was stationed up in Oakland and came down to southern CA to visit me. He said he didn't wear his uniform because of the dirty looks he got. I'm so ashamed of how so many military men were treated in those days.
What's done is done but I personally want to thank you MountainDog for your sacrifice and service, proud of you beyond words.

It is a sad day when our friends in the military have to feel bad when they come home. Those people should be ashamed of themselves for spitting on the very people that gave them their freedom in the first place. All I know is that I could not be more proud of our military, past and present, and I am proud to call America my home. Thanks to all of the brave people that serve our country.

MountainDog, our Nam vets were treated absolutely atrocious, I really am suprised that after that war, we have young men and ladies wanting to volunteer for military service, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service and am so sorry and offended that you were treated that way by those "ladies". I am sure they are the great liberals of today, the most insensitive bunch of intolerant people I have ever seen!
