FRC's Tony Perkins: Stop giving money to RNC

Urges members to 'give directly to candidates who you know reflect your values' --Politico.com

Tony Perkins urges conservatives to stop giving money to RNC
Tony Perkins, head of the Family Research Council and an influential social conservative, is urging his members to stop giving money to the Republican National Committee, POLITICO has learned.

"I've hinted at this before, but now I am saying it: Don't give money to the RNC," Perkins will tell FRC members in the group's next e-mail newsletter. "If you want to put money into the political process, and I encourage you to do so, give directly to candidates who you know reflect your values."

Perkins' move comes two days after it was disclosed that the committee spent nearly $2,000 at a lesbian bondage club near Los Angeles — a revelation that has revived Republican griping about Chairman Michael Steele and the national party.

"This latest incident is another indication to me the RNC is completely tone-deaf to the values and concerns of a large number of people they are seeking financial support from," Perkins writes.

His move comes a few weeks after Mark DeMoss, a prominent Christian conservative P.R. executive and donor, said after the disclosure of the RNC's controversial fundraising presentation that he would stop giving to the national party.

In his missive, Perkins also lamented that the RNC had touted their hiring super-lawyer Ted Olson to represent them in a campaign finance case.

"Yes, this is the same Ted Olson that is trying to overturn the results of the marriage amendment in California," Perkins writes. "The outcome of Olson's challenge to Prop 8 goes far beyond nullifying the votes of nearly 7 million voters in California; his efforts could lead to the overturning of amendments and laws in all 45 states that currently define marriage as the union of one man and one woman."

These actions raise a potentially more serious threat to the RNC than the mere embarrassment of using party money to pay for a night out at a establishment dubbed Voyeur West Hollywood. The committee has $9.46 million in the bank and already likely won't be able to offer the congressional committees and GOP candidates the sort of financial help they have in the past. If social conservatives — the core of the party base — withhold contributions, the RNC's money problem could become far worse.

Apparently, according to Fox News, the Catholic Church is trying to stop its members from giving any money to Republicans. That was the tease, but I did not hear the report.

This sounds like a good idea. I think if you pick your man or women you will avoid some of the globalist shills that make up a bulk of both parties.

We had some elections here for representative for the Republican Central Committee. A bunch of people that believe in upholding the immigration laws won but the members that were entrenched tried to mess with them.

This is an old story but here it is if you want to check it out.

Republican Establishment Sues Elected Minutemen and Ron Paul Supporters Taking Back the Party

/Alameda County//, California// - /The Republican establishment is suing seven Minutemen and Ron Paul supporters who were newly elected to the Alameda County Republican Central Committee, using the Committee Chairman, Paul Cummings, as their surrogate. If the establishment is successful in this lawsuit, you can expect this tactic, or similar ones, to be repeatedly utilized to crush perceived threats. We could have agreed not to contest the lawsuit and quietly faded away; instead we elected to fight. However, our odds of winning are diminished if we are forced to stand alone on the battlefield. We need your support and, most importantly, your financial assistance to win this lawsuit, and help take back the Republican Party from within. (See below how to help out.)

After the Presidential Primary, a number of us decided to get involved with the local political process by running for the Alameda County Republican Party Central Committee. (Alameda County is across San Francisco Bay from San Francisco) We felt that we could put what we had learned during the Presidential Primary Campaign to good use in promoting our own campaigns for Central Committee. Along with other like-minded supporters, we formed a group which we named the Constitutional Republicans. We used our organizational skills to get a professional looking website up and running, personalized fliers printed and a Meetup Group started. We did canvassing drives, literature drops, sign bombs, flier bombs, e-mail blasts and a whole host of other things to get our slate of Constitutional Republicans recognized and elected.

After the June 3rd Primary, it was obvious that our hard work had paid off. We ran a total of 18 candidates, and 12 were successful in winning majority seats in 3/5ths of the Assembly Districts that compose the Central Committee. Our entire group received 67,829 individual votes from the Republican voters of Alameda County-- 20,000 more than the incumbants combined. We were all very grateful to the voters, for supporting us and giving us the chance to do our part in returning the Republican Party to its small government, pro-border, pro-capitalist roots.

This is not to say that our battle was over... far from it! After the results of the election had been certified by the Board of Supervisors, the Chairman filed a lawsuit contesting the election of seven of the newly elected members. This was a desperate attempt to intimidate these individuals into not serving on the Central Committee. Needless to say, the Chairman's plan did not work, as this lawsuit has effectively turned our group from a herd of alley cats into a pride of lions! We are now more organized, dedicated and committed than ever before. With assistance from Minutemen organizations from around the area, over forty supporters let the Chairman know at the Central Committee meeting in August that he was not going to be able to hide behind this lawsuit.

We have a strong case but we need to retain legal counsel to assist us and argue our case in court. It is also very important to stop the Republican establishment from using this tactic against others who follow us. If we fail, you all may all be assured that this tactic will be used every time we gain ground in our goals of restoring our Republic and Taking Back the Party!

The best revenge will be to win this lawsuit and send a message to the Republican establishment that they cannot intimidate us! Please make a donation to our Legal Defense Fund Chip-In account. No donation is too small, every dollar counts and is much appreciated. Our trial is set for November 12th, so time to prepare is short.

You may donate either on the Constitutional Republicans website (http://www.ConstitutionalRepublicans.org) <http://www.constitutionalrepublicans.org/> or directly to the Legal Defense Chip-In site at http://constitutionalrepublicans.chipin ... he-lawsuit

Any funds left over or recovered from Chairman Cummings for legal expenses will be returned to the local Minutemen organizations in a pro rata share. For us to do that, you _must_ indicate your local organization (such as "GGMM") in the merchant instruction box after you enter your credit card or PayPal Payment.

Remember "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
