Thread: straw polls for Repbulicans

Come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are we going to have a repeat of 2008???????????? Mike Huckabee!!!!!!!!!!!!! We want a chance to win the next presidential election. Last time they weren't really serious about the election and gave us McCain. Can't we do better? Out of all the politicians in the country we have to have the same old same old running? I don't want Romney either. Isn't there some REAL conservative out there? Huckabee has a terrible record on illegal immmigration. We need to get behind someone now and promote them and not wait like we did with RP. Any suggestions?

Alan Keyes or Joe Wilson would be good, don't need anymore old blood, out with them all!

I think the 2010 elections will be a major determinant as to whether the Republicans come up with a fiscal and social conservative presidential nominee in 2012. If voters show their total disdain for the fiscal AND social liberalism of Obama and the Democrat party by dumping as many liberals as possible and replacing them with 'true' conservatives (fiscal and social ), the RNC will probably be compelled to yield to the conservative base. I also think it is up to us, via blogs such as ALIPAC, to vet all of the candidates to ensure their position on all critical issues are clearly understood. Remember, McCain was not only pro-amnesty, he had his own Cap and Trade Plan, and his own health care reform plan, none of which would have done this country any good.
