    USS Preble departs

    Destroyers sail for gulf, part of Stennis group

    The USS Preble departed from Naval Station San Diego on Saturday, January 20, 2007 as part of the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group.


    OS2 Averill Hamana had a tear in his eye as he held his two year-old son Jase Hamana moments before he boarded the ship for his deployment.


    OS2 Jason Connor says goodbye to his fiance Sandra Rodriguez before the ship prepared to leave.


    CTT1 Danielle Crowley said goodbye to her seven year-old daughter Abbigail Crowley as they prepared to depart

    If Bush does take the "gloves off" in Iraq, then you got to be ready for what Iran may do......If Iran attacks any of those carriers, then here we go again.

    Just so you know. These Sailors are sad because they just got back from deployment. The surge is moving up their deployment schedules. There is supposed to be an 18 month window between deployments.

    Usually when a carrier leaves, a dozen other ships accompany them.
