As we saw in Egypt, Bahrain, Libya and elsewhere in the middle east, when the power elite are threatened, they open fire. http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/t ... e_01282011 Geo-politics aside, the people of Syria certainly have a reason for concern with their current leadership. Any political body resorting to massacring unarmed protesters should be deposed and replaced.

It is unclear whether this occurred before or after US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates warned Syria with a thinly veiled threat to stand aside and empower revolution. http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/w ... n_03252011

The following amateur video shows hundreds of Syrians dispersing amid indiscriminate fire from Syrian security forces:

It seems that middle eastern leadership is not yet familiar with how quickly information can spread on the internet. As more people around the world, especially in Syria, see how far Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is willing to go, the situation will further deteriorate, likely leading to his eventual ousting – by his people or Western coalition no-fly-zones.

Unlike Libya, Syria’s military can mobilize 400,000 troops.

Will President Obama and the coalition of the willing be ready to protect the innocent civilians in this country as well?

If so, it is important to mention that Syria and Iran are staunch allies in the region and this consideration cannot be ignored.
