The Foreign Ministry of Georgia hopes the UN in its next resolution on Georgia will reiterate the principle of territorial integrity of the country, and agreement on expansion of the UN mission's functions in South Ossetia and Abkhazia will be reached - RosBalt.

The corresponding statement was spread today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. In particular, drawing international police forces in Abkhazia and South Ossetia is mentioned.

The Georgian side hopes the resolution will distinctly state the territorial integrity of Georgia, said Shota Gvineradze, the head of the European affairs department of the Georgian Foreign Ministry. He added that Georgia regards as necessary the presence of strong UN mission with monitoring and police functions.

The UNSC is expected to adopt a resolution on Georgia on June 5th.

Sokhumi, Moscow and Tskhinval are strongly against international policemen in the conflict areas. Tbilisi cannot rule out Moscow's laying veto on the UN mission in Georgia work - as it happened with OSCE mission.
