Teens sue over 'God Bless America' ejection

Teens sue over 'God Bless America' ejection
    11 commentsSept. 14, 2009 01:17 PM

TRENTON, N.J. - Three teenagers who say they were tossed from a New Jersey ballpark for sitting through the song "God Bless America" are suing the minor league Newark Bears.

The boys say their constitutional rights were violated when they were asked to leave Newark's Bears and Eagles Riverfront Stadium in June by Bear's president co-owner Thomas Cetnar.

Cetnar confirms the boys were asked to leave but declined to elaborate.

The boys - Millburn High seniors Bryce Gadye and Nilkumar Patel, both 17, and junior Shaan Mohammad Khan, 16 - sued in federal court Friday seeking unspecified damages.

They say when they told Cetnar they had the right to remain seated, he cursed and had two security officers remove them from their seats behind home plate.

    Disrespectful

If they can't respect our country, flag and national anthem they can leave our country.

Isnt diversity great? Now we have Muslim teenagers suing because they claim their constitutional rights were violated. This is America. We let you build your mosques and some idiots even provide footbaths for your rituals. Why not show some respect to the country you live in?

I agree ELE..they need to leave if they do not respect the land they are in..so I just wonder if all three are Muslim? This gets ridiculous. Come to this country and not respect the land and laws and then turn around and sue everyone because THEY DO NOT want to adapt........Anyone can sue!!That is where it needs to stop........

It is sad that any lawyer would even take on this "suit". Guess they just lost a lot of money in the market.

I had a unique experience. When I was at a Major League baseball game, there was an obese man sitting a couple rows ahead of me. He didn't stand for the National Anthem but I thought, well ... perhaps he can't or is handicapped or something, but then later, this fat ass got up from him chair and moved several rows down to a more expensive seat and better viewing (without paying)

    Jack ass and Jerk!!!!!

I always remove my hat and stand proudly and quietly with my hand over my heart each and everytime. No Ifs, Ands, or Buts!!!

You are right USAF. Even when people stand they do not put their hand over their heart (or take their hats off)....Maybe they do not know. A lot of practices that we used to do are no longer observed. Take for instance the hat. I was raised to remove the hat when entering a building. Now how old fashioned is that?
