Man In Homeless Disguise Gives Rent Money To Strangers

December 20, 2013 by UPI - United Press International, Inc.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (UPI) — Numerous residents of Vancouver, British Columbia, said a person disguised as a homeless man gave them money to pay their rent.

Stories from Vancouver residents have been popping up on social media about a mysterious person disguised as a homeless man who has been giving out cash and checks to people who offer to help him, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Friday.
Yogi Omar said he offered to help a homeless-seeming man who asked for change on a street corner and he ended up talking to the man for a short time. The man eventually revealed he wasn’t homeless at all.

    “I’m like, ‘What?’” Omar said.

The man told Omar he and his family participate in an annual random acts of kindness project during the holiday season and they seek to help people who are kind to the homeless. Omar said the man asked him what he paid for rent each month and gave him cash for the exact amount, $439.

Omar said the money came to him at a very opportune time, as he is planning a trip to China to visit his father, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

An elderly man in Oklahoma calls his son in New York and says, "I hate to ruin your day son, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are getting a divorce; 45 years of marriage... and that much misery is enough!" "Dad, what are you talking about?" the son yells. "We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the old dad explained.

"We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking abou...
t this, so you call your sister in Hong Kong and tell her!". Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like heck they're getting divorced," she shouts, "I'll take care of this." She calls her elderly father immediately, and screams at him, "You are not getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, you hear me?" she yelled as she hung up the phone. The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. "Okay", he says, "it's all set. They're both coming for Christmas and paying their own air-fare."
