DeWayne Craddock has been identified as the shooter in Virginia Beach shooter that killed 11 people. Craddock has been described only as a ‘disgruntled employee’ up until now. DeWayne Craddock who was also killed was 40 years old and had made multiple firearm purchases in recent weeks, officials said. There was no “MAGA” hat found, so that’s why it took the “authorities” hours before they released this killer’s name.

One of those most bizarre responses came from Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.
Yang, who has gained notoriety because of his universal basic income proposal, argued that a UBI would help prevent mass shootings.
He believes that reduced levels of stress would serve as a deterrence for violence.

A Universal Basic Income of $1,000 a month would help too - it would reduce stress levels and increase mental health across the board. A lot of job stress comes from feeling like you need the job to survive. If you didn’t you would likely respond differently to situations.

Is it possible that a disgruntled employee would respond less violently if he was going home to a secure financial future? I’d say that is very possible and even likely over a large number of cases. Stress kills and financial stress kills. Universal Basic Income would save lives.

Yang ignores several inconvenient truths:

1. John Lott’s Crime Prevention Research Center notes that “Virginia Beach bans employees from being able to carry gun.”
   
2. Virginia is not exactly a pro-gun paradise as it is ranked 30^th in Guns and Ammo magazine for the friendliest states for gun ownership. From a pro-gun perspective, its guns laws are middling at best.

To think that a new government handout will somehow make states like Virginia safer, is the height of wishful thinking. Instead, Virginia should look at liberalizing its gun laws and reinforcing security in public facilities.
With former Vice President Joe Biden rising as the Democratic Party frontrunner, Yang has fallen into obscurity.
He’s now doing his best to remain relevant by politicizing this shooting just like the rest of his Democratic rivals.

On Friday, June 1, 2019, a gunman killed twelve people and wounded six at a Virginia Beach municipal center.

The shooter, was an African American male by the name of Dwayne Craddock who was a “longtime public utilities employee.”

The perpetrator used a .45 handgun to commit the indiscriminate slaughter and was shot dead by police.

According to an NBC report, Braddock, who worked for the city for about 15 years as an engineer, “recently purchased multiple firearms legally.”

Naturally, there were calls for gun control from Democrats, who ignore that Braddock passed his federal background check like every gun owner in the nation has to.

The media have been relatively silent about this shooting, with some speculating that it may have to do with the fact that the shooter was African American.

In the wake of other shootings, media outlets like Newsweek tend to focus on how 54 percent of shootings are committed by whites. The report Newsweek used in this instance was from 2017.

From 1982 until June 2018, 59 of the 101 mass shootings during that period were committed by white people according to data from Statista, a site which provides “statistics and studies from more than 22,500 sources.”

African Americans had the next-highest number of mass shooting perpetrators at 16.

From the looks of it, the Virginia Beach shooting does not fit the media’s ongoing narrative, thus it will not receive much coverage like other shootings.

More details about DeWayne Craddock, the Virginia Beach civil engineer who killed 12 people and wounded nearly half a dozen others (including a police officer) on Friday during "protracted gun battle" inside the municipal building where he had worked, have started to emerge over the weekend.
And from a series of interviews with those who had worked with Craddock, a vague understanding of what may have been his motive has started to emerge.

While Craddock had no history of violence at work or in his personal life, according to the New York Times, he had been involved in a violent incident in the workplace in recent weeks, and had been warned that disciplinary action would be taken.
City officials including City Manager David Hansen said Craddock "was still employed" by the city at the time of the attack. "He had a security pass like all employees had and he was authorized to enter the building."
However, the Washington Post reported Sunday morning that Craddock had resigned from his position by email Friday morning, just hours before the shooting began.
Despite having no history of aggressive behavior, Craddock had begun acting strangely in recent weeks, even getting into "scuffles" with other works. He had even got into a violent altercation on city grounds, and was warned that disciplinary action would be taken.
Though his motives weren't clear, his neighbors had told reporters on Saturday that Craddock's wife had abruptly left him in the not-too-distant past.
When he stormed Building 2, the building where he had worked for more than a decade, helping to manage the city's water and sanitary sewer system, Craddock was armed with two .45-calber hand guns, at least one of which was outfitted with a silencer, and loaded with extended magazines. Two more guns were later found inside his home.
Police have yet to comment on a possible motive, and the reasons behind Craddock's sudden lurch toward staggering violence remain unclear.
