Kurt then 39, was working for an arm of the Department of Homeland Security - the US equivalent of MI5.

He was tasked with filming everything he saw for a report about the earth-shattering events that unfolded.

But Kurt never handed over the footage after his own life spectacularly nosedived when he was accused of murdering his wife, Nancy, in 2002.

He was forced to flee the US and is on the run in Argentina - where he has finally found the courage to break his silence.

But the fugitive is convinced the real reason is because he knows too much about what happened during the deadliest attack on American soil.

He claims to have clear evidence the US government knew 9/11 was coming.

Kurt revealed how he found a vault beneath World Trade Center 6 which had been emptied of its contents BEFORE the planes hit.

The conspiracy theorist said in a documentary filmed in Argentina: “One thing I’m certain of is that agencies of intelligence of the United States of America knew what was going to happen and at least let it happen.

“Not only did they know it was going to happen, but they in fact collaborated.”

The theory is backed up by similar claims about a basement door below World Trade Center 4.

According to an article in the New York Times, the door to a vault remained intact.

But behind it was almost 1,000 tonnes of silver and gold.

But Kurt is most troubled by how World Trade Center 7 crumbled - despite suffering no damage.

“To me, the most suspicious thing of all is what happened to building seven at the World Trade Center,” he said.

“This building was not hit by a plane. It didn’t have any structural damage ... but, amazingly enough, building seven fell in a perfect textbook type implosion, taking only 6.5 seconds for a 47-storey building to fall completely into its own footprint.

“This to me indicates there was absolutely no resistance between the floors when the building collapsed.”

Kurt also revealed the torment he has faced since being accused of his wife's murder.

Cops found a cryptic letter from Nancy in the couple's bedroom, believed to be a suicide note, which read: “What indeed is finally beautiful except death and love. Kurt, please get help.”

The word love had been crossed out.

Nancy’s fingerprints were found on the gun but Kurt was quizzed by cops before being charged with murder and was due to appear in court in June 2002.

But the charges were dropped - until just a year and a half later when a new warrant was issued, prompting him to run away to Argentina.

Cops say they found Kurt with bloody hands and a blood-stained face when they arrived at the scene.

Defence lawyers argued he hugged his wife after the gun went off and she "coughed and sneezed" in his face.

But in an interview with GQ magazine, Kurt told how he put his hands to his face after tending to his wife.

And he says the splattered blood was simply dried on.

Kurt, who has since remarried, revealed in the documentary: "At least four times has my case been looked at by a judge and been decided in my favour yet the US government continues and continues.

“What we want now is for the US government to cease what they’re doing.

"My wife and I now have two beautiful daughters born here in Argentina. I now consider myself Argentinian.

“Of course I miss my (family) very much. I miss the mountains of Colorado.

"But to me, if I had a chance to go back to the United States, I don’t believe I would.

"I prefer it here."

Kurt could face the death penalty if he is extradited to the US and convicted of Nancy's murder.

But while he remains in Argentina - which fiercely opposes the death penalty - any questions will remain unanswered.

The nature of the collapse of the two World Trade Center towers and the nearby WTC7 (in this photo, the brown building to the left of the towers) is a major focus of 9/11 conspiracy theories.

9/11 conspiracy theories are conspiracy theories which attribute the planning and execution of the September 11, 2001 attacks against the United States to parties other than, or in addition to, al-Qaeda^[1] or claim there was advance knowledge of the attacks among high-level government officials.

Government investigations and independent reviews have found no evidence for the theories.^[2][3]Proponents of these theories claim there are inconsistencies in the official conclusions, or evidence which was either ignored or overlooked.^[4]

The most prominent conspiracy theory is that the collapse of the Twin Towers and 7 World Trade Center were the result of a controlled demolition rather than structural failure due to impact and fire.^[5][6] Another prominent belief is that the Pentagon was hit by a missile launched by elements from inside the U.S. government^[7][8] or that a commercial airliner was allowed to do so via an effective stand-down of the American military.

Possible motives claimed by conspiracy theorists for such actions include justifying the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq(even though the U.S. government concluded Iraq was not involved in the attacks)^[9] to advance their geostrategic interests, such as plans to construct a natural gas pipeline through Afghanistan.^[10]

Other conspiracy theories revolve around authorities having advance knowledge of the attacks and deliberately ignoring or assisting the attackers.^[4][11][12]

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the technology magazine Popular Mechanics have investigated and rejected the claims made by 9/11 conspiracy theories.^[13][14]

The civil engineering community accepts that the impacts of jet aircraft at high speeds in combination with subsequent fires, not controlled demolition, led to the collapse of the Twin Towers.^[15][16]

This also was the conclusion of the 9/11 Commission, chaired by Governor Thomas Kean.

The attack on the WTC on 9/11/2001 was a conspiracy launched by resurgent Islam and had nothing to do with the US government.

Once again a little review. The attack on the WTC towers by two 747 airplanes was just one part of a Muslim conspiracy which seized four 747 airplanes. Two were flown into the WTC towers. One was flown into the Pentagon. The last crashed when it was on its way to the White House.

The attack on the WTC towers was the third such attempt. The first attempt was a truck bomb that was driven into the parking under one of the towers. The second after that was halted after it was discovered.

The 9/11 attacks were a Muslim conspiracy launched by Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda from Afghanistan. Anybody who believes otherwise is either a fool or a liar.
