TIJUANA – The wave of violence in Tijuana has continued into November, with at least three people fatally shot Saturday, two of them adolescents, state authorities said.

In another attack, gunmen armed with high-caliber weapons gravely wounded three men in the afternoon in a junk yard called Rabago II on the city's east side, municipal police said.

On Friday night, the discovery of two bodies inside a parked vehicle in colonia Ampliacion Guaycura pushed the death toll in the city to 168 for October, the deadliest month in memory, state authorities said.
Meanwhile, the Mexican army announced Saturday that it had detained seven men believed to be gunmen for organized crime, and seized $400,000 and 1.5 tons of marijuana.

The day's violence began at 10:30 a.m., when gunmen fatally shot a man 25 to 30 years old on Fresa Street in colonia Florido Segunda Seccion, the state Attorney General's office said. Investigators found 34 spent shells of .223 caliber at the site.

One street away, on Avenida Uva, the bodies of two other shooting victims were found, apparently killed by the same group of gunmen. Some 60 spent shells of the same caliber were at the scene.

The state agency identified those victims as Mario Fernando Guevara Sanchez, 16, and Limber Trinida Ordoñez, 18.

About five miles away, police had found the bodies of two men inside a Yukon SUV on Friday night. They were identified as Gabriel Martinez Perez and Cosme Melendrez Garcia, both 24.

Meanwhile, unrelated to those shootings, the Mexican Army announced the seven suspected gunmen were detained Friday in the farming community of Maneadero, south fo Ensenada, after an anonymous tip came in. In addition to the cash and marijuana, four high-caliber AR-15 rifles and three AK-47s were seized.

The army identified the detained as Giovani Daniel Martinez Reyes, 21; Christopher Flaustro Valencia, 17; Isaac Esmir Lopez Galindo, 20; Gustavo Gutierrez Perez, 19; Javier Lara Cortes, 40; Daniel Lopez Orozco, 56; and Hassen Lopez Galindo, 23.
