U.S. To Deploy Navy Ship ‘Comfort’ To Aid Venezuelans In Colombia

The Pentagon is preparing to send a humanitarian ship to relieve countries which are swamped with Venezuelan migrants who have fled the Maduro regime.

Defense Secretary James Mattis told reporters Friday that Colombia and other parts of South America are being considered.

The naval ship Comfort will be equipped with a doctors, operating rooms, labs, a pharmacy and other medical services.

This comes after the secretary wrapped up six days of meetings with officials during his South America tour.

Mattis believes countries are doing their best but called the situation in Venezuela a very clear problem.
