LA JOLLA — As it absorbs deep budget cuts and braces for more, the University of California San Diego has quietly reduced its work force by more than 800 positions, or nearly 5.5 percent, in recent months, university officials disclosed yesterday.
The downsizing includes at least 172 layoffs, 222 positions left vacant and 428 that have been eliminated, said Stacie Spector, associate vice chancellor for communications.
More layoffs and unfilled vacancies are expected as UCSD and the balance of the higher education community come to grips with state funding reductions that could approach $2 billion for the UC, California State University and California Community Colleges systems.

the school is also assuming that familys will be able to pay that added 9 - 10 percent cost increase with familys income reduced or gone and student loans maxed out.

Are the universities looking at these cuts going to cut the radical, anti American staff and programs which have all played no small part in reducing this country to the miserable state it is currently in?
Or, do they get to stay and finish the job?Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

06-04-2009, 01:36 PM #5Due to the budget crisis, state lawmakers are talking about cutting billions of dollars out of our state budget. They are not talking about the over 1 billion dollars we are spending on the illegal aliens in NC each year. We hope to change that conversation with this press release followed by a series of interviews on talk radio shows across NC!
