Thread: Union president touts Hire US, American plan

R. Thomas Buffenbarger, international president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers is touting a 21-point plan for revitalizing the American economy and putting Americans back to work.

The Hire US, America plan includes creating a WPA-style public works program, renegotiating all trade agreements - beginning with NAFTA - and a national policy of buying American.

Just need to get our gutless politicians to go along with it as well.

Kick out all the illegals to start

The concept is spot on. The means though is off the mark. They want to increase food stamps, increase unemployment, increase training, increase government mandates, etc., etc.

I totally support this union and what they want to do for our country, but this union must realize that the only way to bring our manufacturing base back to the United States is to pass the FairTax not a 10% investment tax credit; repeal all free trade agreements not renegotiate them; restore protected trade policies which taxes with tariffs imported products; end the war on drugs and drill baby drill. And if you want Americans to get the jobs, the you must stop illegal immigration.

It's not a 21 step plan that we need, it's five simple actions:

1. stop illegal immigration
2. pass the FairTax
3. protect our trade
4. legalize/regulate/tax under 2 the illegal drug trade
5. drill baby drill

It's not complicated. It's very simple.

2010. Make it count, folks.

If he really wants to put Americans back to work first thing the IAM should do is quit the AFL-CIO then demand all illegals be deported.
