In a blatant attempt to intimidate Forbes magazine Robert Gibbs has demanded a meeting to protest publication of a Dinesh D'Souza article entitled 'How Obama Thinks.' http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2010/0927/ ... oblem.html

"It's a stunning thing, to see a publication you would see in a dentist's office, so lacking in truth and fact," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs says in an interview. "I think it represents a new low."

Gibbs is meeting with Thursday afternoon with Forbes's Washington bureau chief, Brian Wingfield, to discuss his objections. "Did they not fact-check this at all, or did they fact-check it and just willfully ignore it?" he asks.

Aside from the audacity of a government attempt to control free speech this is really amateur hour for the White House. Calling attention to the article will assure that many more people will read it and send circulation through the roof for Forbes. It's a sure sign that D'Souza got to close to the truth for White House comfort.

Hey Gibbs! Forget about the damage control meeting.

I got one paragraph into the article and it sounds to me like Dinesh D'Souza got it right!

Not much fact checking needed, it's pretty obvious to anyone with half a lick of sense what Obama is.

The oddities go on and on. Obama's Administration has declared that even banks that want to repay their bailout money may be refused permission to do so. Only after the Obama team cleared a bank through the Fed's "stress test" was it eligible to give taxpayers their money back. Even then, declared Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, the Administration might force banks to keep the money.

This article is right on the mark in many of its analyses.

So Forbes comes up with a story that is full of lies and deceit, and they are STILL trying to blame Obama? So let me get this straight. You interview me for an article. The article comes out and it is nothing but slander and lies (because the CEO of Forbes is a Republican) and I am not allowed to say anything about it? You get to protect yourself from that?

OH!!! That's right!! I forgot that the right-wing media (FOX) WON the right in court to lie to their audience and pass it off as truth. Too bad nobody cares that the thing they are supposedly against they blindly support.

Change will always be hard, and it doesn't happen from the top down.

We do not get universal health care, we don't get better schools because somebody else is in the White House. We get change because folks from the grass roots up decide they are sick and tired of other people telling them how their lives will be - when they decide to roll up their sleeves and work.

And Barack Obama will require you to work.

He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism, that you put down your division, that you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones, that you push yourselves to be better, and that you engage.

Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual - uninvolved, uninformed...
