UT Austin evacuated due to bomb threat

AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas in Austin has been evacuated due a bomb threat.

The UT Communications Office states the university received the threatening call at 8:30 a.m. Friday. They said the caller, a male with a Middle Eastern accent who said he was with Al Qaeda, claimed to have placed bombs all over the campus. He said the bombs would go off in 90 minutes.

Upon being notified of the call, UT President Powers decided to evacuate all of the buildings as a precaution.
