A VICTORY FOR FREEDOM: Court Sides With Brave Unvaccinated Michigan Athletes Over Mandate

By Leisa Audette | Oct 10, 2021

A legal battle that sixteen brave Western Michigan University athletes have undertaken just got a big win. The battle isn’t over, but the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals delivered a unanimous decision on Friday against the university’s COVID vaccination mandate.
The unanimous decision held that the university violated the athlete’s First Amendment rights. Detroit’s FOX 2 reports the decision is now binding precedent in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

The sixteen athletes filed a religious exemption, and according to the court, the university “ignored and denied” the request. Emily Dahl, Hannah Redoute, Bailey Korhorn, and Morgan Otteson said that on Aug. 12, Western Michigan required them to get a shot by the end of the month or be removed from the team. The four student-athletes contacted Great Lakes Justice Center, who quickly brought a lawsuit before Western Michigan’s vaccination deadline. A motion was filed by Great Lakes Justice Center seeking to keep the athletes on their prospective teams until the case “could be heard.
The religious exemption became even more important last week in light of the bombshell undercover report from Project Veritas that ‘human fetal tissue’ is used in producing the Pfizer COVID vaccine (see below).

The published decision states: “The university put plaintiffs to the choice: Get vaccinated or stop fully participating in intercollegiate sports. By plaintiffs’ the privilege of playing sports on plaintiffs’ willingness to abandon their sincere religious beliefs, the “university burdened their free exercise rights.”
The lawyer for the athletes wrote: “The Sixth Circuit Court vindicated their (his clients) religious convictions and that they can continue to be part of their teams. “We trust all parties can move forward in a spirit of cooperation to uphold the important constitutional issues at stake, as well as taking appropriate m” assures to ensure the” safety of everyone at WMU.”

The order states: “The First Amendment, as incorporated through the 14th Am, prevents a state from ‘prohibiting the free exercise of religion. The 14th Amendment” also guarantees equal protection under the law.”
Local “FOX 2 received a statement from the university:
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to protect our student-athletes and our athletic program. Our vaccine policy plays a critical role in keeping athletes safe and ensuring they are able to compete throughout the season without consumption. We will continue to abide by the court’s decision and allow the student-athletes in the matter to fully participate in their sport wh “le we also consider our next steps in the case.”

Project Veritas released the last video in their 5-part series about the COVID vaccine. This one is a doozy and intensifies the importance of religious exemption in the controversy over the vaccine.
The whistleblower in the video below tells of a cover-up by Pfizer that they used ‘human fetal tissue’ in lab testing of the COVID vaccine.
Melissa Strickler leaked internal emails that show corporate executives telling staff to be secretive about using human fetal tissue in laboratory testing of the COVID vaccine.
Strickler says that Pfizer is trying to cover up this information because people who want religious exemptions will have the fetal tissue issue to help get that exemption from getting the COVID vaccine.

The key evidence presented is from emails and documents where Vanessa Gelman and Philip Dormitzer mention human fetal cells “derived from an aborted fetus.”

-Vanessa Gelman, Pfizer Senior Director of Worldwide Research: “From the perspective of corporate affairs, we want to avoid having the information on fetal cells floating out there…The risk of communicating this right now outweighs any potential benefit we could see, particularly with general members of the public who may take this information and use it in ways we may not want out there. We have not received any questions from policymakers or media on this issue in the last few weeks, so we want to avoid raising this if possible.”
-Vanessa Gelman: “We have been trying as much as possible to not mention the fetal cell lines…One or more cell lines with an origin that can be traced back to human fetal tissue has been used in laboratory tests associated with the vaccine program.”
-Philip Dormitzer, Pfizer Chief Scientific Officer: “HEK293T cells, used for the IVE assay, are ultimately derived from an aborted fetus. On the other hand, the Vatican doctrinal committee has confirmed that they consider it acceptable for Pro-Life believers to be immunized. Pfizer’s official statement couches the answer well and is what should be provided in response to an outside inquiry.”
