I dont get it. I guess this is a vote to vote for the bill to move forward for debate. It will be debated on this afternoon.

I dont think this vote is for the bill, I think its to debate the bill or something like that.

Perhaps it's the vote on cloture, which has to preceed the actual vote on the bill itself.

They had a procedural vote and now they are debating for 90 minutes. Start calling and emailing. They are getting updates from staff.
It is full of pork, it is now 800 billion plus dollars.
Now the governor of California is saying in a correspondence with Henry Paulson that he is running out of money. Wonder why? Duh.
