Watch: Eleven Republican Doctors Run for Senate to Fight Obamacare (VIDEO)

Everything is pointing to Obamacare becoming the most destructive economic catastrophes in recent history. One of our best chances at mitigating this is electing people who are both committed to its repeal and have specialized knowledge in how the healthcare industry actually works.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has caused doctors to react in several ways. Many doctors have already began to either flat-out reject Obamacare or simply leave the industry entirely. However, another group of doctors plan to take their fight all the way to Capitol Hill – by running for the Senate.
Eleven reputable doctors across the country have recently put their hats in their respective Senate races to dismantle Obamacare. Among them are Rep. Phil Gingrey, Rep. Paul Broun, Monica Wehby, and Annette Bosworth.

Gringrey, an OB-GYN, has a blunt declaration on the front page of his website: “Obamacare is bad medicine. Let’s send a doctor to the Senate.” Most notably, he has made a “Repeal or Go Home” pledge, wherein he promises not to seek a second term if Obamacare is not repealed within his first.
In an interview with The Hill, Representative Paul Broun, a physician, said:
Doctors are in a very unique position to look at the financing of healthcare. … We go into medicine for one reason, and one reason only: Because we care about people; we want the people who we serve to have a productive, happy, healthy life. That’s the kind of policymaker we should have in place in dealing with healthcare policy.

Career politicians will tell you that they, too, “care about the people,” yet their actions suggest they care far more about control than they do people’s well-being. (Perhaps that’s why everyone thinks they are one of the least honest and most unethical groups of people around. Just a thought.)
Monica Wehby, a pediatric neurosurgeon, differentiated politicians and doctors for The Hill:
For doctors, instead of arguing about things, the whole goal is to find an answer. We’re trained to be logical thinkers, making our decisions based on evidence as opposed to ideologically, or based on emotion.
Decisions in D.C. being made based on facts over emotion: wouldn’t that be nice?
Annette Bosworth, an internist, said what Washington lacks is communication — something at which doctors are required to excel because lives are quite literally on the line:
The reason we are broken is the communication that should be happening on Capitol Hill isn’t. The country is in serious trouble because those leaders are stuck. But what is the advanced skill of physicians? We’re master communicators. We’re always thinking, how can I navigate through this while still keeping my eye on the goal?
The public is more disenfranchised with socialized medicine (and the politicians who support it) than ever before. Obamacare is crashing and burning right before our eyes and taking doctors and patients down with it. Doctors have the intimate knowledge of the healthcare industry and are not bound by emotion and “politics as usual.” They also have a very unique skill-set to not only get elected but get results – and their stated goals? Take down Obamacare.

Everything is falling into place to put these Republican doctors in an excellent position to combat Obamacare in Washington, D.C. Do you support their fight? Help spread the word by sharing this article!
