This week's job loss report
THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Texas's Huntsman Corp. said Tuesday it plans to layoff 650 people as part of its purchase of Ciba Specialty Chemicals Inc. earlier this year.
Huntsman will open a technical center in Qingdao, China, as well as two new formulation and distribution centers in that country.

A Brighton automotive plant has plans to downsize its workforce. The automotive plant will cut their workforce from 376 workers to about 60.

Dana Corp Closing Kentucky Facility

Toledo-based auto parts supplier Dana Corporation is closing a plant in southwest Kentucky by June because of weak auto sales.

Friday, the last Ford Taurus will roll off the line, and with it, the plant will close. The Hapeville plant is one of 14 Ford plants scheduled to close by 2012.

Company closing farm-implement plants in Illinois, Pa.

GOODFIELD, Ill. - More than 200 workers will lose their jobs next year when a plant that makes farm implements closes in this small central Illinois town. Goodfield's Case New Holland plant will be shuttered by the end of 2007 along with a factory with 450 employees in Belleville, Pa., according to CNH Global.
