IMO Dr Paul seems to be the only candidate who realizes the dangerous situation our country's Democracy faces if we do not stop Big Businesses Government influence.

Somehow we must stop the soaring number of Special Interest lobbyist from having unfettered access to our Congress.

Ron Paul is the only one that makes sense all the other candidates will be more of the same big government and loss of freedoms for the common good. There is more to this election than just illegal immigration it is a fight to take our country back.

    Just a question:
If Ron Paul is against big government what would he do to stop the flight of capital out of this country. In other words, what would he do to stop businesses from moving everything but their headquarters to overseas facilities where they can hire cheap labor, and thus take jobs out of the US. Do you think that it is only excessive taxation that is forcing this? Or will ciorporations merely branch out overseas as sson as there is adequate infrastructure in those places to conduct their operations?

The prognosticators of globalization say the US middle class is going to get hammered: both by outsourcing and by insourcing. Globalist corporations are taking American technology and just setting up facilities in poor countries to produce what was formerly made here. Most of the things I buy now are from US companies, but manufactured elsewhere, How would Ron Paul stop this, via a Libertarian program? (Is there even such a thing as a program in Libertarian thought/)

I really don't have the answer to your question, Captainron, but I have some ideas about that.

Looking back at the time when America was a leader in manufacturing and living standards, America had a system of tariffs on foreign goods that made 'buying American' an easier thing to do. Not only did it level the playing field for American manufacturers, it provided a nice source of revenue for the Federal government, keeping their greedy fingers from venturing too deeply into our pockets.

As those tariffs have been lowered or eliminated, American manufacturing jobs have been relocated to countries with lower costs of labor, less environmental regulation and subsidies and tax breaks from their respective governments. A return to our previous system would not only produce increased revenues for the government, it would also force manufacturers to return those jobs to America.

Since we are the world's largest consumer nation, we do hold the power of the purse.

PineStraw; I value your input so much. Every time I see Ron I like him more and find I am trusting his judgment - he is extremely intelligent and his thinking makes sense to me. Thank you for hanging around here and keeping up the fight.
