Thank you for this article carolinamtnwoman! Finally someone is writing the truth about free trade. The US needs to disengage from this free trade treason as soon as possible and restore our protected trade policies that built this country into the greatest economic superpower the world has ever known and established the highest standard of living of any people anywhere.

Beware everyone in the 2010 elections. If candidates support Free Trade Treason, do not support them, because no matter what they say on immigration and amnesty, they will not uphold our laws because Free Trade Treason goes hand in hand with Illegal Immigration and massive excessive Legal Immigration between nations. Their goal is to create one market, one government, one people ... controlled by the WTO and the UN to service corporate and elitist interests only at the expense of everyone else. Without our nation, our laws and our Constitution, Americans will be defenseless against the onslaught.

However, I do not agree with Mr. Cooke's solution. We need to pass trade protection laws to protect our trade, not "democratically-control" our corporations and employers. And we should always be cooperative with the employers who hire us unless a grievance exists and then work democratically using labor and civil rights laws to fix it.
