Cover-up of wildly wrong prediction of 50 million "climate refugees" proves that the warmist scheme is not science, but fraud.

Where are all the 'climate refugees?'

Remember the Y2K hysteria? Climate hysteria is the same, but with this one difference: The hysterics have learned not to place a hard-and-fast expiration date on their mania.
Still, they do at times lose control in their exuberance as they predict humanity's demise.

A column in Asian Correspondent.com begins, "In 2005, the United Nations Environment Programme predicted that climate change would create 50 million climate refugees by 2010."

Um, unfortunately for the Gore-ons, many of the places that were supposed to be emptied out by now -- due to rising ocean levels, advancing desert sand dunes, windblown plastic grocery bags etc. -- are actually some of the fastest growing on earth.

Who could have predicted that?

Not the Gore-ons, obviously.

Update from Thomas Lifson: it gets worse

The UNEP is dishonestly covering-up its hysterical an d utterly wrong prediction. Gavin Atkins of Asian Correspondent catches them red-handed:

The United Nations Environment Programme has tried to erase one of its glaring failed predictions about climate refugees by removing a a map from its website purporting to show where 50 million climate refugees will come from by 2010.

After Asian Correspondent reviewed its findings earlier this week, the story has been linked to by websites around the world such as Investor News, American Spectator and was referred to in yesterday's Australian newspaper and even got a mention on Fox News.

However, the website which is maintained by GRID-Arendal, an official United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) collaborating centre, has now deleted the map.

What's more, the error message dishonestly claims:

Dear visitor, it seems like the map you are navigating by is maybe not fully up-to-date, or that it might have an error in it, or is it that your GPS is not loaded with the correct data?

However, if you are quick, you may yet be able to download a copy via google cache here.

Such actions clearly identify the warmist scheme as fraud, not science. Honest scientists review the failed predictions their theories generated and then change their theories. Fraudsters delete evidence of their mistaken predictions and pretend they never happened.

Case closed.

Update: Anthony Watts of Wattsupwiththat has a column in the Daily Caller http://dailycaller.com/2011/04/16/the-u ... -cover-up/ (hat tip: Lucianne.com) on the inept cover-up. It seems that in deleting the evidence, the UN geniuses, who know everything, forgot to delete the high resolution map containing expressing their predictions. They are not only fraudsters, they are inept fraudsters, yet they have conned m any of the world's governments, corporations, and even many scientists. This is one of the most pathetic spectacles in the hsitory of science, goign all the way back to alchemy.
