Since their new budget is over $1 trillion, with a LOT going to the Military Industrial Complex, it looks like any "savings" from DOGE is going right back into the swamp.

The question is, how much will Speaker Johnson’s big beautiful spending bill increase our national debt if adopted?

Are we supposed to be on board with adding to our national debt which currently is approximately $136 trillion, when including unfunded federal debt liabilities?

Are we supposed to be on board with Johnson’s con game which reflects Whimpy’s thinking?

It boggles the mind of thinking people how Congress has knowingly and willingly brought us to a point in time when our national debt, including unfunded debt liabilities, is now at about $136,000,000,000,000.00

And now, they are working to add even more to the debt.

The primary question of whether an “unusual and extraordinary threat” exists is certainly a political question, and one which Congress, and only Congress, is authorized to answer under the delegated power they placed in the presidents hands.

Issues for Congress
President Trump declared this emergency in response to “underlying conditions, including a lack of reciprocity in our bilateral trade relationships, disparate tariff rates and non-tariff barriers, and U.S. trading partners’ economic policies that suppress domestic wages and consumption, as indicated by large and persistent annual U.S. goods trade deficits.” If Congress approves of these tariffs, no further action is needed by Congress to keep the tariffs in place. If Congress disapproves of these tariffs, it has several options for expressing that disapproval. Congress could terminate the underlying national emergency by enacting a joint resolution of disapproval using the expedited procedures provided in the NEA (see list of previous joint resolutions). Congress could also amend IEEPA to restrict its use in imposing tariffs. Several Members of Congress introduced bills, in the 116th Congress, to do just that following then President Trump’s 2019 threatened tariffs against Mexico (S. 764, H.R. 1755, S. 2413, H.R. 3557).

The bottom line is, if there is a disagreement, it is Congress who must act with regard to this kind of political question. Our Courts are not competent or authorized to make political judgements of this nature.
