SCOTTSDALE - A big announcement is expected Tuesday from the company Yelp. Yelp is expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the valley.

Yelp is a social networking site that allows people to review businesses online. Celebrating its one year anniversary in the Phoenix market, there are rumors Yelp's CEO will announce more jobs coming to the valley.

Job recruiter, Michael Hayes says jobs coming to the valley are a good thing -- but they're not as good as the ones that left.

"Phoenix is the low wage capitol of the world. After we lost construction... there were people making $20 to $25 bucks an hour. Those jobs went away."

On its website, Yelp is advertising for account executives at its Scottsdale offices. If you go for those positions, Hayes says, be aware you will be selling.

Despite training by companies like Yelp, not everyone is cut out to be a sales superstar.

"That's the reason why they have to hire a lot of people because the drop out rates are probably very high. Because someone gets in there for two or three weeks, and they're like man I just can't do this."

While these companies are internet driven, young, and hip, when you meet them for the first time in person, Hayes suggests treating them like a traditional employer -- so dress professionally.

"Don't wear flip-flops, don't have a lot of piercings, visible tattoos... remember its tough and anything that can be used to screen you out will be used."

"Don't smoke a half a pack of cigs before you go in the office, because you'll smell. I get that all the time from people they just reek as soon as they hit the door. Big issue nowadays."

Thursday, June 23rd at 5:30 p.m., Yelp is holding an event at their Scottsdale offices for interested job seekers to check out the Yelp office, meet the staff.

Hayes says it's a great idea, you can find out beforehand if you even want to pursue a job there.
