Are you kidding me? Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize?

This is absolutely unbelievable! I was going through my morning routine, and I saw an e-mail telling me that Barack Obama had won the Nobel Peace Prize. The first thing I did was check my calendar. No, it's not April 1!

The fact is that Obama DID win the Nobel Peace Prize. He has been in office nine months, has nothing to show for it on the international stage except to make America less safe, and he's being rewarded for his efforts and accomplishments? This is the craziest thing I've ever heard!

For those people who need coffee in the morning, you can skip it today. The news should be a good enough shock to your system. As noted in the AP story on GOPUSA, Obama "won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for 'his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.'"

Here is the full text of what the Norwegian Nobel Committee's statement regarding Obama's award:

"The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama's vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.

"Obama has as president created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama's initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.

"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population.

"For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world's leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama's appeal that "Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges."

Ok, let's break this down.... First, he's being rewarded for his "vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons." What he has done with his policy of abandoning our nuclear defense program is to make America more vulnerable. Both North Korea and Iran are talking about and testing missiles with the desire to launch nuclear weapons. Obama wants to make that easier.

Next... "Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts." Ok, this is the biggest joke yet. How many times did the U.S. and other nations go to the U.N. in order to get Iraq and Saddam Hussein to peacefully comply? Many, many times. How many times did the U.S. act through the military without first conducting rounds and rounds of diplomacy? Not once.

This is just so insane! But... it gets worse. We all know that the Nobel organization is the biggest left-wing lovefest in the world. Jimmy Carter as a winner? Al Gore as a winner? What a joke. But check this out...

According to the Nobel committee's own web site, all nominations must be submitted by February 1 of the year awarded. This means Obama's international accomplishments are based on him being president for twelve days! Twelve days! http://nobelprize.org/nomination/peace/process.html

"Nominations postmarked and received after this date are included in the following year's discussions."

Nobel Prize winner and former Polish leader Lech Walesa was stunned to hear the news. http://blogs.wsj.com/new-europe/2009/10 ... t-so-fast/

"Who? What? So Fast?" a shocked Walesa said when reporters told him about the latest Obama win.

"Well, there's hasn't been any contribution to peace yet. He's proposing things, he's initiating things, but he is yet to deliver," he said.

I'm sure the White House will be spinning this like crazy throughout the day, trying to somehow show that Obama, after just twelve days in office, produced enough accomplishments to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Former Congressman Joe Scarborough on his "Morning Joe" show has already received an e-mail from a White House official telling him to stop being such an a****le. Maybe this post will generate a White House message as well, because Obama has NO BUSINESS winning a prize for zero accomplishments, 12 days in office, and policies that take away freedom domestically and make Americans less safe to international threats. That's quite a record.

Yep. That means he was nominated for the peace prize TEN DAYS after he was inaugurated. Amazing, isn't it? What the heck has happened to common sense? What happened to actually accomplishing something BEFORE being rewarded for it?

I have no respect for obama and/or this prize.

This coveted award is obviously not worth the paper is printed on.

You know, I thought Al Gore was questionable... but I said, OK he has good intentions with the global warming thing...

    BUT OBAMA!!!!!!! WHAT! PEACE?
HE'S MADE 150 MILLION AMERICANS MAD AS HELL.

These days, the Nobel Peace Prize is a joke. It's become a Globalist perk for politicians that join in and play along. Make me puke.

I might add... Lech Walesa might have been the last deserving individual. He did truly great things. The Nobel Peace Prize has become a cheep token.

Obama and the Nobel Peace Prize are both jokes. He has made America less safe and he defends those who have victimized this country and their proud citizens.
