Contempt of Congress in "Fast and Furious" Investigation

Back in February, U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) promised to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress if Holder didn't hand over Justice Department documents that had been subpoenaed as part of an ongoing investigation into the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives' now-infamous "Operation Fast and Furious" gun-walking operation.

This week, Rep. Issa--chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee--made good on the pledge and sent out a draft Contempt Order against Holder to members of the committee. The document makes a case for holding the beleaguered U.S. Attorney General in contempt of Congress due to his ongoing refusal to cooperate with the investigation. While not actually citing Holder with contempt, the document does establish grounds for the charge.

According to a release by the committee [quoted below this article], the documents explain what happened in "Fast and Furious," the hardships faced by the family of murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry in getting truthful answers about his death, how whistle-blowers have faced retaliation for their actions, and the violent crime and narco-terrorism in Mexico that "Fast and Furious" has enabled.

"This briefing paper and draft contempt report explains the case, to both Members of the Committee and the American people, for holding Attorney General Holder in contempt of Congress," said Issa. "In describing the results of the Justice Department's refusal to cooperate--including the hardships the family of a fallen Border Patrol agent have faced in seeking the truth, and retaliation against agents who blew the whistle on gunwalking--this briefing paper provides the facts, on which decisions will be made."

A Newsmax article reports that U.S. Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Tex.), also a member of the committee, has asserted that Holder's Justice Department has been given every possible opportunity to cooperate with House and Senate probes, but has chosen not to.

"We are dealing with a specific instance here of the Department of Justice not turning over thousands of pages of documents relating to the death of a border patrol agent and allowing over 2,000 guns to go from the United States into Mexico in violation of both United States and Mexican law. And nobody is willing, in the Justice Department, to work with us," Farenthold said.

"They go after anybody who is a whistleblower. They stonewall at every turn. It is absolutely unacceptable behavior from one branch of government to the other."

NRA-ILA has already reported on how the Obama Administration has endangered lives to justify gun control in the case of "Fast and Furious." The Newsmax article goes on to report that Farenthold, too, believes "Fast and Furious" could have been a set‑up to increase gun control laws. "There are a couple of options as I see it. One: there are some incompetent folks there. The other, more scary, one for me is 'was there any sort of agenda,' Farenthold said."

"One of the results of Operation Fast and Furious was a change in regulatory schemes, that without an Act of Congress, the BATFE now requires gun dealers in border states to file reports on multiple sales of certain types of weapons. So if I were to go out and buy my wife and two daughters a long gun, I would be reported as a possible straw buyer. We are taking away people's Second Amendment rights by executive fiat. Was this the plan all along? That is something the American people need to know."

It is clear that the established policy of the Obama Justice Department and Attorney General Holder is to deny Congress and the American people the truth about “Fast and Furious.” Hopefully, Rep Issa's continued efforts to seek the truth will yield results.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) has distributed a staff briefing paper and draft of the contempt of Congress resolution against Attorney General Eric Holder to Members of the Oversight Committee. The briefing paper explains what happened in Operation Fast and Furious, the hardships faced by the family of fallen Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in getting truthful answers about his death, how agents who blew the whistle on the reckless operation have faced retaliation, and the carnage in Mexico that Fast and Furious has helped fuel.

“This briefing paper and draft contempt report explains the case, to both Members of the Committee and the American people, for holding Attorney General Holder in contempt of Congress,” said Issa. “In describing the results of the Justice Department’s refusal to cooperate – including the hardships the family of a fallen Border Patrol agent have faced in seeking the truth, and retaliation against agents who blew the whistle on gunwalking – this briefing paper provides the facts, on which decisions will be made.”

Highlights of the briefing paper include:

On information sharing failures (p.6):
“When [firearms trafficking syndicate ringleader] Celis-Acosta informed ATF of the names of the two cartel contacts for whom he had been working, agents quickly came to learn that these two U.S.-based cartel contacts were already known to the Department of Justice … In exchange for one associate’s guilty plea to a minor charge of “Alien in Possession of a Firearm,” both of these cartel associates became FBI informants and were considered essentially unindictable well before Operation Fast and Furious concluded. One ATF official would later say that the discovery that the primary targets of their investigation were not indictable was a “major disappointment.” Adding to the information-sharing failure, DEA had actually provided Celis-Acosta’s cartel connection to ATF in December 2009 in an effort to ensure that ATF’s efforts in Operation Fast and Furious were not duplicative.”

On the Justice Department’s Failure to Cooperate (p.9):

“When the Committee issued a subpoena to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on October 12, 2011, for Justice Department documents, the Committee specified 22 categories of documents it required the Department to produce. Department representatives specifically confirmed their understanding of each category. To date, the Department has not produced any responsive documents for 12 of the 22 categories. The Department has not completely fulfilled any of the 10 categories for which documents have been produced. For over a year, the Department has issued false denials, given answers intended to misdirect investigators, sought to intimidate witnesses, unlawfully withheld subpoenaed documents, and waited to be confronted with indisputable evidence before acknowledging uncomfortable facts.”

On the struggle of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry’s family to get the truth (p. 11):

“While the Justice Department’s admissions have largely come as a result of being confronted with indisputable facts, the painfully slow process of getting the truth has been a continuing frustration for the Terry family. They still do not have the all the facts about the circumstances surrounding Brian Terry’s murder …. As Brian’s sister said of his family’s desire to know the full truth, ‘Brian was about making a difference and justice. And I just feel that this country owes it to him, because he spent his whole life fighting for this country some way or another.’”

On Retaliation Faced by Agents who blew the whistle (p.13):

“Agent Alt notified his superiors about his impending testimony. The next day, ATF Internal Affairs notified Alt that they wanted to talk with him about another matter. On May 5, 2011, Agent Alt met with ATF internal affairs investigators about allegations that Alt downloaded two prohibited applications to his government-issued phone. The total cost of these applications was eight dollars …. Alt was prevented from transferring offices and his eligibility for promotions and pay raises barred during the pendency of the investigation – all supposedly over eight dollars in phone applications.”

On Fast and Furious fueling violence in Mexico (p. 15):

“In October 2010, cartel members kidnapped Mario Gonzalez Rodriguez, the brother of the Attorney General for the Mexican state of Chihuahua, where Juarez is located. The cartel posted a video of the kidnapped Rodriguez online, in which he alleged, under duress, that his sister had ordered killings at the behest of the Juarez cartel. The video went viral and became a major news story in Mexico. Two weeks later, Mexican authorities found Rodriguez’s body in a shallow grave. In a subsequent shootout with cartel members responsible for the murder, police arrested eight and recovered sixteen weapons. Two of these weapons traced back to Operation Fast and Furious. Although the Department of Justice learned that these weapons traced back to Fast and Furious almost immediately, no one informed the Mexican government. Not until congressional investigators were on the verge of learning the truth about the connection did an ATF agent in Mexico finally tell the Mexican Attorney General in June 2011 – seven months after Rodriguez’s murder.”

On allegations of intentional wrongdoing by Justice officials (p. 17):

“Perhaps the most damning assessments of the Department’s handling of the fallout from Operation Fast and Furious have come from two Justice Department officials. Kenneth Melson, the former Acting AFT Director during the pendency of Fast and Furious, told Congress that, “it appears thoroughly to us that the department is really trying to figure out a way to push the information away from their political appointees at the department.” Patrick Cunningham, who had been tasked by the Justice Department with investigating ATF whistleblower allegations of gunwalking, would later invoke his Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination in refusing to answer questions about his work.”

There have been dozens of legal challenges to President Barack Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen” – as required by Article 2, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution, which states, “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

And WND has reported that among the documentation not yet available for Obama’s history is a long-form original birth certificate, kindergarten records, Punahou school and Occidental College records, Columbia University records and thesis, Harvard Law School documents, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.

It is possible never before has an American president taken so many pains to hide so much of his background – to the point of hiring lawyers to race around the nation fighting anyone who tries to access his life’s records.

But it appears the concerns some doubters have expressed over Obama’s Selective Service registration form may not be fully justified.

The charges include a claim the form signed by Obama was created in 1990, not 1980; the postal date stamp had incorrect information on it, and there were a couple of other discrepancies.

The allegations, while significant, may have become lost in light of the federal lawsuits being presented to the U.S. Supreme Court challenging Obama’s presidency and other issues that developed.

But several experts say there is little reason for alarm over this document.

Postal abbreviation

One allegation involved the postal date stamp used on Obama’s Selective Service form. It’s been reported the form has the abbreviation “USPO” for United States Postal Office, even though when Obama’s form was completed in 1980 the agency was using the abbreviation “USPS” because of a change to the name “United States Postal Service” several years earlier.

The National Postal Museum directed inquiries to Dick Sine, one of the top postal historians in the country who wrote a stamp column for the New York Times and authored “Stamp Collecting for Dummies.” He reported that it is entirely possible that a clerk was using an outdated stamp.

“Personally, my general rule of thumb is, ‘If a clerk might have an outdated device still lingering around someplace with research (especially at a smaller PO) sooner or later it is going to show up on some piece of mail it is not supposed to,” Sine responded via e-mail.

Another expert contacted agreed with Sine, “I know that there were still some post offices in Texas using older (double circular) date stamps with the USPO instead of USPS in the time frame you mentioned. There was no requirement that I am aware of for a postmaster to replace his date stamp, and many did not.”

Indeed, the experts confirmed some locations were using “USPO” stamps as late as 2000, 20 years after a Hawaiian post office stamped Obama’s registration form with a “USPO” stamp.

Document locator number

Another allegation suggesting the forged document theory is that the Document Locator Number (DLN) at the top right of the registration form – 0897080632 – means the form was produced in 2008 and not in 1980, the year Obama signed it. This is based on the fact the first two digits are “08.”

However, Will Ebel, the former director of the Selective Service under Ronald Reagan, and Dick Flahavan, the current associate director of the Selective Service who has served the government since the Reagan years, agreed that the number was not a decider.

“Registration forms created prior to the establishment of the Data Management Center had a DLN configuration different than the current format. The first three characters (089) of the DLN for this form designate that this form was key entered by one of the keying centers of the Internal Revenue Service,” they concluded.

The experts reported the “089″ number, instead of identifying a date, indicated where the form was keyed in, becoming part of a sequential system only years later.

10 digits

Another claim is based on the 10 digits of Obama’s form, while others have 11.

The government reports at the signing by Obama in 1980, Document Locator Numbers were only 10 digits, an identifier that later was changed by the Selective Service to be 11 to help track them.

“The field was later expanded to 11 digits to accommodate the decade change in 1990 and subsequent decades to avoid duplication of some Document Locator Numbers,” Flahavan said.

Legibility

Another claim is that the form signed by Obama has a date reference that could indicate it was signed Feb. ’90, not Feb. ’80, but Flahavan reports while the paper version of Obama’s form may be hard to read, the microfilm image of the document clearly shows the date of the form as Feb. ’80.

The claims that Obama’s signature is dated a day after the postal stamp also remains inconclusive for analysts who reviewed it, who pointed out a clerk can forget to change a stamp, or a person can mistake the day when signing.

Flahavan also reports questions about a possible conflict between Obama’s signing date in Hawaii and his attendance at Occidental College is not verifiable. He said the records seem to indicate Obama signed on July 30, 1980, four weeks before classes started at Occidental, and the Sept. 4 date on a computer printout simply is when the record was added to the database.

Most of those hypothetical postulations coulda, mighta, oughta, shoulda been possible, although the probability of all of them occurring on the same document tends toward the probability of lightning striking the same tree twice . . . at the same time.

But one thing is absolutely certain. The "8" in the date stamp is upside down or misorientated by 180°: the vertical ellipse is on top and the smaller circle is below it.

If the date was stamped in 2008, after "1980" stamp blocks had been removed from circulation, the only way to even partially fake a 1980 stamp would have been to cut a "2008" stamp block in half and rotate the "08" 180°. Had the date actually been stamped in 1980, the stamped date would have read "1980", not "80" with the "19" chopped off, and certainly not "08" with the "20" chopped off, then rotated 180° - which is the two-digit year stamped on the fraudulent Barack Obama II Selective Service registration form.

Savage was furious after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton praised Islam while addressing a Muslim audience in Bangladesh.

Well, I figure it was a Democrat who called me and gave me the WRONG TIME! It was 10 am Central Time, 9 am Mountain.
As Furious as I was, I bit my tongue and called the Sec. of State and explained the situation to him... He thought it was FUNNY!
He told me my complaint had NO MERIT.

Feds Willing To Destroy Millions Of Vital Records Just To Protect Obama

There are numerous reasons for law enforcement and professional organizations to request copies of records from the Selective Service System. Sometimes the request is for a background check for a job or security clearance. Other requests are made because of individuals who have made unsubstantiated claims about their backgrounds and qualifications. Yet others are prompted by someone running for political office.

For decades the Selective Service has readily complied with the requests and furnished the desired documents. That is until they heard that they would be receiving an official subpoena for copies of Barack Hussein Obama’s records.

On September 20, 2011, The Selective Service System announced new policy changes to the privacy rules, handling and preservation of existing documents. Under the new guidelines, draft registration records would be considered as nonrecord copies instead of record copies. Record copies must be kept on file, but nonrecord copies can be disposed of and destroyed. That means that any and all draft registration cards and microfilm copies are now subject to being destroyed, including the one belonging to Obama.

Documents released this week by the British Foreign Secretary reveal that the president’s father, Barack Hussein Obama, Senior, was the target of an international investigation due to his ties to Kenyan terrorists groups. The top secret files, which had been suppressed for decades, were privately condemned by administration officials who feared they would undermine the president as polls show him trailing Republican contender Mitt Romney by at least five points. They also highlight the mounting public evidence tying Barack Jr. to communist sleeper cells and long range plots to undermine American democracy.

(In other disturbing Obama news, it was leaked today that the President frequenty ate dog meat as a child. He is the first and only United States President to have ever eaten a family pet. Apparently, such an act is a ritualistic part of Muslim religious training, and the young Obama found the meat, “quite satifsying.”)

The shocking dossier on Obama Sr. came to light after a lengthy case in the British High Court brought by a team of professors at Oxford University. The records hark back to a time when Kenya was still a British colony and Obama Sr. was a Kenyan national who traveled to Hawaii for a college education, despite his political radicalism and poor academic record. The suspicious move prompted a closer look by security agents who worried about the young man’s sudden fixation on entering the United States. Barack Jr. hatched a very similar scheme to network his way from academia to the Halls of Congress, despite his equally mediocre educational record.

On September 1, 1959, one British ambassador penned a highly classified communiqué that stated, “I have discussed with the State Department. They are as disturbed about these developments as we are. They point out that Kenya students have a bad reputation over here for falling into the wrong hands and for becoming both anti-American and anti-white.”

Despite the warnings, Obama Sr. was allowed to stay in Hawaii were he met and married Stanley Ann Dunham. Sometime afterward, the couple traveled to Indonesia where the President was born and raised with a traditional Muslim upbring, complete with Imans and Madrasas. While this is not the story told by the mainstream media, far too many questions have been raised about the incredibly fraudulent birth certificate the Washington insiders tried to pass off on the public a few years back.

Despite this long string of earth-shattering revelations, the U.S. State Department does not appear likely to release any FBI or CIA files they have on the President’s father. It is imagined that under Director J. Edgar Hoover, such a dangerous man would have been watched closely and the evidence against him would be exhaustive.



Curiously enough, Barack Jr.’s avowed anti-white, anti-American policies appear to be a continuation of his father’s very own radical socialist ideology. Obama Sr. was an agent of the African American Students Foundation (AASF), a trade unionist agitation group which fronted for foreign socialist interests. Just like his father, Barack Jr. went from Hawaii to Harvard, with the assistance of many leftwing political organizations (such as ACORN, the Weather Underground and the Fabian Socialists).

Will the mainstream media continue to hide this vital information about Obama’s presidency? Will the State Department ever release Barack Sr.’s file? By no stretch of the imagination should this man he trusted with one ounce of power, yet somehow he has schemed his way to the very top of our body politic. This is nothing less than the greatest crime America has ever known.

The evidence released this week suggests that the Obama plot to undermine Christianity through socialism may indeed stretch back half a century. While this comes as a shock to many, others have been worried about the Barack Obama Jr. since his early days in the Senate. There are just too many questions swirling around this President for the U.S. public to trust him. For people of faith, it reminds us to be weary of false prophets and those who push the heinous terrorism of Islam on our homeland. The Bible warns us repeatedly about such a man who rises to power and begins a series of events prophesized as the End Times. Could Barack Obama be that cloven hoofed creature we have been warned about? Tragically, most citizens are simply too moronic to worry about this very real possibility.

No, no shame, because it's not on us what the dark side has done in the darkness. We did not allow it, because we are not in control of what the anti-Americans, communists, and Is|amists do. That shame and guilt is on them, not on us. We were probably not even present to prevent it. "It happened on our watch" does not mean "we watched it happen." We have no means wherewith to stop the lamestream media from broadcasting half-truths, intrigues, confusion, cover-ups, and just plain lies.

That "we should be ashamed, because we allowed it" meme has been hurled at us on the right to make the right feel as guilty as the wrong already feel for their crimes, sins, and lack of knowledge and understanding of what is right. That "we should be ashamed, because we allowed it" tripe has been used to trip up and get back at the opponents of abortion and euthanasia, homosexual acts and homosexual unions, child sexual abuse and human trafficking, open borders and smuggling of illegal aliens and illicit drugs, secularization of public schools and the public square, and everyone from the homeless unemployed to parents disciplining their own children by appropriately spanking them. "We should be ashamed, because we allowed it," is a "one size fits all" cheap shot to make both victims and standard bearers of righteousness look like bad guys - if not as bad as the perpetrators, then at least on the same tier of moral equivalence.

No, we are NOT ashamed because someone else did wrong. That is what apologists for Is|am are saying when they blame the genuine, manifold evils of capitalism for the murder of nearly 3000 persons at the Twin Towers. No, the criminal culpability, the personal accountability to the Lord at the Judgment, and the blame for the murders of thousands of non-combatants are entirely upon the 19 Saudis who committed the attacks, upon Al Qaeda which commissioned and paid for the suicide attacks, and upon the demagogues of Wahhabi Is|am, who pumped those men full of vile hate and pointed them at the infidels to murder them.

I am sick and tired of otherwise right-minded Christian preachers and teachers using 2 Chronicles 7:14 to blame Christians for drought, locusts, plagues, famine, and defeat at the hands of their national enemies, supposedly because God's people - the people of faith, not non-believers - were

1) proud and exalted themselves against God by disobedience,
2) prayerless, or not continuing faithfully in prayer,
3) godless, rejecting the Lord, or turned aside and
distracted (apathetic), or tempted and straying (corrupt),
4) or intent upon continuing in sin, refusing to repent.

It's not my fault that UN regulators ban DDT, the only insecticide against locusts truly effective in open spaces, so that locusts have stripped everything green except the house paint from several countries in sub-Saharan or equatorial Africa, for several years running now. It's not my Christian friends' fault that HIV/AIDS infects 1 in 4 adults (age 15-49) in Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland, all in or adjoining South Africa, where the HIV/AIDS infection rate is not quite so bad - only 17½%. It's not my church's fault that Europe, Great Britain, Canada, and the U.S. cower and tremble before the menace of Is|amist terrorism, while countries of Asia - Russia east of the Urals, India, and China's neighbors to the south and east - don't put up with no stuff; they just take care of business, kickin' and taking names.

Conjugation of "It's not ___ fault."

This conjugation demonstrates that it is correct, at least grammatically, to say,

It's not Bush's fault.

The refusal to judge righteously and assign responsibility for wrongdoing to the guilty party or parties is part of the debased "no fault" culture, where justice has ceased to exist, possibly because there remains no one free of wrongdoing who has the strength of character to winnow out the guilty from the "not guilty this time." In practice, "no fault" means "everyone shares the guilt," so that "we are ashamed" of the communal crime against ourselves, disgraced and humiliated not because we were victims, not because we were part of "universally guilty" humanity, but because "we allowed it" to happen... how socially irresponsible of us (!) to bring commonly shared guilt upon everyone, all because we made ourselves accessible or available to be victimized: duped, ripped off, defrauded, raped, pounded, slashed, or executed.

People who don't know better watch/hear/read the LSM and believe what they're told. Those who learn that they have been deceived turn to FOX NEWS, Lou Dobbs, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, etc.. Among these millions of exiles from the LSM, many are somehow awakened, enlightened, or made aware that even an R or a conservative has an agenda, a spin, a slant on the truth that twists it or conceals it from plain view of the public. As a result, they go looking for the God's Truth - Jesus, Who is the Truth, the Way, and the Life - or they look for the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. So they find us... not always because WE try to lay out the facts before THEM, those blinded by the darkness.

Every one of us reasons as if normal chains of authority, organization charts, channels, and procedures are still operative. We assume that an orderly transfer of power, through free, fair, and honest elections, will save the day... and the nation. But WE MUST FIND OTHER AVENUES FOR REDRESS OF GRIEVANCES. Here's why.

We see AG Eric Holder expressing only the exact same defiance and contempt which he has in common with the Criminal-in-Chief. Were Mr. Obama not similarly defiant, he would have slapped down such misconduct by his subordinate, AG Holder, faster than Sheriff Joe Arpaio stops a drunk-driving illegal alien.

Do not be so naive as to think that AG Holder will allow the Congress, the Courts, the Constitution, or the U.S. Code of Laws to bring down his reign of terror as Mr. Obama's Enforcer, and Chief Inquisitor of the DOJ. Even less may you imagine that his boss, Mr. Obama, has any more intention of being unseated on Nov. 6th or Jan. 15th than he had on the date of each and every court challenge to his rule and reign.. No communist dictator has ever let elections or a Constitution stand in the way of his staying in office.

From the beginning of the 2009-2010 Session of Congress (and before), liberals and RINOs have governed and voted in such opposition to We the People's interests that the Congress has enjoyed approval ratings in single-digit territory for much of the past 3 years and 4½ months. As P.T. Barnum and/or H.L. Mencken were wont to say, "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people," or their attentiveness to the voting records of their Representatives and Senators, either. But neither was anyone ever elected to public office based upon rubbing the electorate's faces in the dirt.

I am no prophet, but IMO, there will not be free, fair, and honest elections in 2012, and probably no elections at all. The likelihood of terrorist attacks inside the U.S. if and when Israel defends herself against Iran, along with a continued collapsing economy and reduced government ability to borrow trillions for operating funds because of reduced credit ratings, rising interest rates, devaluing dollars, and China's increasingly impatient T-bill holders, may be a 1-2 punch to the U.S. way of life.

The consequences - higher taxes and even higher gas prices, reduced health and welfare benefits, more unemployment without more unemployment compensation, and increased police state abuses of authority - all point to widespread civil disorder, rioting, burning, looting, shooting, racial violence, overpowered law enforcement, and a well-armed civilian militia attempting to restore law and order.

Mr. Obama can be expected to use this anticipated chaos as a Cloward-Piven event, an excuse to suspend the elections by declaring martial law per NDAA § 1022 and E.O. NDRP, enforced upon U.S. citizens and legal residents by U.S. armed forces who have recently returned home from combat duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, with vigilantes the most recent villains on the watch list. Results are predictable.

Come quickly, Lord Jesus, come soon. If ever we needed You to rescue us, we sure do need You now.

The report said the brochure was created by Acton & Dystel, which was promoting Obama as the author of the never-produced “Journeys in Black and White.”

That biography states:

“Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. The son of an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, he attended Columbia University and worked as a financial journalist and editor for Business International Corporation. He served as project coordinator in Harlem for the New York Public Interest Research Group, and was Executive Director of the Developing Communities Project in Chicago’s South Side. His commitment to social and racial issues will be evident in his first book, Journeys in Black and White.”

“We act on facts,” Arpaio told WND today. “We started the investigation back in August and utilized my Cold Case Posse to look into documents, the birth certificate and also the Selective Service forms. We seem to have much stonewalling going on.

“But I’m not going to back down. We are continuing to investigate what we feel are fraudulent government documents. We’re going to keep going, to prove once and for all whether they are genuine,” he said.

The unearthed publication “does put more smoke out there,” he said.

“We’ve gotten tons of information regarding this matter. This is just another little element,” he said.

Mike Zullo, the lead investigator for Arpaio’s special unit, told WND it is a “very interesting development.”

“This does coincide with information we have been pursuing, in light of the recent disclosures about discrepancies in his book ‘Dreams From My Father,’” he said. “It does bolster the significance of Sheriff Arpaio’s investigation, and it brings into the light the fundamental question of where actually was Mr. Obama born.”

He said it’s not logical that a literary agent would fabricate a foreign birthplace while trying to promote an author to the American market.

The information would have had to come “from someone close,” he said.

Breitbart News published a disclaimer at the beginning of its article stating its late founder, Andrew Breitbart, was never a “Birther” and Breitbart News “has never advocated the narrative of Birtherism.” Breitbart himself once characterized it as “not a winning issue.”

Nevertheless, the biography is one of numerous published reports as well as personal claims that Obama was born abroad, including the recent testimony of a Chicago-area postal worker who reported he was told by the parents of Bill Ayers that Obama was a foreigner.

The Breitbart report says Acton no longer represents Obama, who later published “Dreams from My Father.” Breitbart News describes the entire Acton booklet as being 36 pages long, printed in blue ink using offset lithography.

“It purports to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of Acton & Dystel, which was founded in 1976,” the report said.

Breitbart said Dystel still lists Obama as a client, and Miriam Goderich, now Dystel’s partner, was listed as the editor of the brochure. Breitbart says it tried to reach Goderich, without success.

“The parade of authors alongside Obama in the booklet includes politicians, such as former Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill; sports legends, such as Joe Montana and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; and numerous Hollywood celebrities. The reverse side of the page that features Barack Obama includes former Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader and early-1990s ‘boy band’ pop sensation New Kids On the Block,” the report says.

Acton told Breitbart that almost none of the biographies was written by the person promoted.

“Regardless of the reason for Obama’s odd biography, the Acton & Dystel booklet raises new questions as part of ongoing efforts to understand Barack Obama – who, despite four years in office remains a mystery to many Americans, thanks to the mainstream media,” the report says.

Meanwhile, Allen Hulton, a retired Chicago-area mailman, has come forward with his first-person recollection of a clean-cut young man he identified as Obama who approached him and told him he was going to be president.

Hulton delivered mail to Tom and Mary Ayers in a Chicago suburb in the late 1980s and early 1990s and claims to have met Obama in front of the Ayers home.

He has given a sworn affidavit to investigators commissioned by Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio to determine whether Obama is eligible for Arizona’s 2012 election ballot. Hulton has recorded about three hours of video interviews with WND.

Hulton says that in conversations with Mary Ayers while on his route he learned of the couple’s enthusiasm and support for a black foreign student. One bright, warm Chicagoland day, he recounts, he met the student who fit Mary Ayers’ description in front of the Ayers home in Glen Ellyn, Ill. That young man, Hulton is convinced, was Barack Obama.

Hulton delivered mail to the Ayers, who are both deceased, when he was stationed at the post office in Glen Ellyn, an upper-middle class suburb 25 miles west of downtown Chicago, from late 1986 to 1997. He was a Postal Service employee from March 28, 1962, through March 30, 2001.

As WND reported, Obama’s relationship with Bill Ayers – whom he dismissed in a 2008 debate as “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood” – plagued him in the 2008 presidential campaign and could resurface in this year’s election, as many questions remain.

Young Obama

Over a period of years in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Hulton estimates he spoke with Mary Ayers about 18 to 20 times and once to Tom Ayers, who died in 2007. Mary Ayers died in 2000.

“Sometimes Mary would be out when I delivered the mail, and we would exchange a few words on occasion,” he says, recalling that she liked to talk about her family.

“One day, Mary came to the door when I came up to the house with the mail,” he remembers. “After a greeting, she started enthusiastically talking to me about this young black student they were helping out, and she referred to him as a foreign student.”

Hulton assumed that by “helping” the student, Mary Ayers meant she and her husband were financially supporting the black foreign-exchange student with his education.

He says that Mary Ayers told him the student’s name, but that it was a “strange name” that he could not remember, even though at the time it sounded African to him.

“I was taken aback by how enthusiastic she was about him,” Hulton says. “And I believe she said he was from either Kenya or Indonesia, and I favor Indonesia in my recollection.”

WND has reported that when Obama was in Indonesia with his Indonesian stepfather and his mother from ages 6 to 10, he was registered in school as an Indonesian citizen and a Muslim. He went by the name Barry Soetoro, adopting the surname of his Indonesian stepfather. His mother’s passport listed him with the surname Soebarkah.

‘I’m going to be president of the United States’

About a year after discussing with Mary Ayers the foreign student she and her husband were supporting, Hulton recalls meeting a young black male on the sidewalk in front of the Ayers home.

Hulton describes the man as being in his early 20s, noting that he was tall, thin, had a light complexion and that his ears stuck out.

“He greeted me,” Hulton says. “He was very polite, dressed nicely, but informally – slacks and a dress shirt – and he spoke with no accent. Immediately this young black man entered into conversation with me. He told me he had taken the train out from Chicago and had come to thank the Ayers family personally for having helped him with his education.”

Hulton remembers asking the young man what his plans were for the future.

“He looked right at me and told me he was going to be president of the United States,” Hulton says.

“There was a little bit of a grin on his face when he said it – he sounded sure of himself, but not arrogant. I know how people will say things because they have an ambition, but it did not come across that way,” Hulton says. “It came across as if this young black male was telling me he was going to be president, almost as if it were the statement of a scientific fact that had already been determined, as if his being president had been already pre-arranged.”

There also was an internal bulletin from the Kenyan National Security Intelligence Service, or NSIS, that states that the Kenyan government in 2009 commissioned a cultural museum in the Obama home village of Kogelo to honor the “birthplace of President Barack Obama” and rededicate the tomb of his father, Barack Obama Sr.

The 2009 NSIS bulletin report said:

The ministry of national heritage this month hosted a cultural festival in Kogelo and commissioned a cultural museum on a plot donated by a member of the Kogelo community. The cultural festival was attended by the minister for national heritage, William ole Ntimama and U.S. ambassador, Michael Ranneberger.

This was to honour the birthplace of President Obama and re-dedicate the tomb of Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., the president’s late father. But the project had been delayed because of ownership wrangles surrounding the plot.

According to an article in the Kenyan Daily Nation newspaper July 5, 2010, the Kenyan government’s plans to build a 112 million Kenyan Schilling ($1.3 million) cultural center at Kogelo was locked in a dispute over who should donate land to the government for the project.

The Daily Nation, which published an artist’s sketch of the proposed Kogelo cultural center, referred to it as Obama’s “ancestral home.”

The NSIS memo suggests the Kenyan intelligence agency kept a close watch on the Obama family in Africa.

It noted the Kenyan government provided assistance to Obama’s step-grandmother, Sarah Hussein Obama, in the form of additional security and a government stipend of 50,000 Kenyan Schillings ($575) per month.

A Kenyan blog, “Jaluo,” reported that Grandmother Sarah caused family conflict when she visited Moammar Gadhafi in Libya “to the surprise and chagrins of the White House in Washington, D.C.,” and “without a proper delegation and approval of the entire family.”

The NSIS bulletin echoed the concern that Sarah Obama was visiting Muslim countries on her own initiative, commenting, “Mama Sarah had requested government assistance to travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrimage,” but “the Saudi Arabia government through its Nairobi embassy has come to her aid” by announcing “she will be a state guest in Saudi Arabia during her time there.”

WND also reported Kenyan MP James Orengo at one point asked the nation’s parliament, “How could a young man born here in Kenya, who is not even a native American, become the president of America?”

On the day after Obama’s election, MP Boni Khalwale asked fellow members, “Could we allow … a Motion for Adjournment so that we could also continue the celebrations of having a Kenyan ruling the USA?”

In addition, a number of media sources – including National Public Radio – reported Obama’s birthplace as Kenya prior to his election as president.

Another reference was made in 2008 in the Nigerian Observer.

Under a Washington dateline, Solomon Asowata wrote, “Americans will today go to the polls to elect their next president with Democratic Party candidate, Senator Barack Obama largely favoured to win. The Kenyan-born Senator will, however, face a stiff competition from his Republican counterpart.”



An African Travel Magazine once reported, “As Kenyan born U.S. Senator Barack Obama jets into Kenya today as part of his African tour, concerns have once again been raised on the security preparations for other visitors and residents.”

An article in the Sunday Standard in Kenya begins, “Kenyan-born US Senate hopeful, Barrack (sic) Obama, appeared set to take over the Illinois Senate seat after his main rival, Jack Ryan, dropped out of the race on Friday night amid a furor over lurid sex club allegations.”

The article is credited to the wire service Associated Press. However, it could not be found either in the AP archives online or the African newspaper’s website.

Also, an African news site and an MSNBC broadcaster referred to President Obama’s birthplace as being outside of the United States.

A report by Modern Ghana posted in advance of the president’s visit stated his birthplace was on the continent of Africa.

“For Ghana, Obama’s visit will be a celebration of another milestone in African history as it hosts the first-ever African-American President on this presidential visit to the continent of his birth,” the report said.

According to archive.org, a website that caches websites on a regular basis, the Dystel.com website – the official website for Dystel & Goderich, Obama’s literary agents – was using the Barack Obama “born in Kenya” language until April 2007, just two months after then-Senator Obama declared his campaign for the presidency.



Archive.org shows that the Dystel website used the following biography for Obama as of April 3, 2007:
