Feb 20, 2012http://www.RonPaul.com
Ron Paul's consistently strong anti-war message is one that resonates with many U.S. troops today. Hundreds of active duty troops, veterans, and Paul supporters marched from the Washington Monument to the White House this afternoon. Sick of fighting seemingly never-ending wars overseas, troops that took part in the march say they are ready for radical change. Liz Wahl spoke to veterans that say their only hope for that is getting Paul into the White House.

Armed Chinese Troops in Texas!
This talk is called "Imagine" and it was given by Ron Paul on March 11, 2009. The original text of the talk is below:
Imagine for a moment that somewhere in the middle of Texas there was a large foreign military base, say Chinese or Russian. Imagine that thousands of armed foreign troops were constantly patrolling American streets in military vehicles. Imagine they were here under the auspices of "keeping us safe" or "promoting democracy" or "protecting their strategic interests."
Imagine that they operated outside of US law, and that the Constitution did not apply to them. Imagine that every now and then they made mistakes or acted on bad information and accidentally killed or terrorized innocent Americans, including women and children, most of the time with little to no repercussions or consequences. Imagine that they set up checkpoints on our soil and routinely searched and ransacked entire neighborhoods of homes. Imagine if Americans were fearful of these foreign troops, and overwhelmingly thought America would be better off without their presence.
Imagine if some Americans were so angry about them being in Texas that they actually joined together to fight them off, in defense of our soil and sovereignty, because leadership in government refused or were unable to do so. Imagine that those Americans were labeled terrorists or insurgents for their defensive actions, and routinely killed, or captured and tortured by the foreign troops on our land. Imagine that the occupiers' attitude was that if they just killed enough Americans, the resistance would stop, but instead, for every American killed, ten more would take up arms against them, resulting in perpetual bloodshed. Imagine if most of the citizens of the foreign land also wanted these troops to return home. Imagine if they elected a leader who promised to bring them home and put an end to this horror.
Imagine if that leader changed his mind once he took office.
The reality is that our military presence on foreign soil is as offensive to the people that live there as armed Chinese troops would be if they were stationed in Texas. We would not stand for it here, but we have had a globe-straddling empire and a very intrusive foreign policy for decades that incites a lot of hatred and resentment towards us.
According to our own CIA, our meddling in the Middle East was the prime motivation for the horrific attacks on 9/11. But instead of re-evaluating our foreign policy, we have simply escalated it. We had a right to go after those responsible for 9/11, to be sure, but why do so many Americans feel as if we have a right to a military presence in some 160 countries when we wouldn't stand for even one foreign base on our soil, for any reason? These are not embassies, mind you, these are military installations. The new administration is not materially changing anything about this. Shuffling troops around and playing with semantics does not accomplish the goals of the American people, who simply want our men and women to come home. 50,000 troops left behind in Iraq is not conducive to peace any more than 50,000 Russian soldiers would be in the United States.
Shutting down military bases and ceasing to deal with other nations with threats and violence is not isolationism. It is the opposite. Opening ourselves up to friendship, honest trade and diplomacy is the foreign policy of peace and prosperity. It is the only foreign policy that will not bankrupt us in short order, as our current actions most definitely will. I share the disappointment of the American people in the foreign policy rhetoric coming from the administration. The sad thing is, our foreign policy WILL change eventually, as Rome's did, when all budgetary and monetary tricks to fund it are exhausted.

When one puts aside all the histrionics, all the melodrama, all the irrelevant secondary bullshit such as appearance, charisma, ability to tele-evangelize, all the irrelevant policies such as what planet the US should colonize or how women should procreate, and focuses on just one thing: which presidential candidate (not to mention president) will do the right thing for America, which is to make sure that it doesn't collapse under a record debt load, there is just one answer. And it is not even ours: it comes from the impartial Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget Project, aka US Budget Watch ("U.S. Budget Watch neither supports nor opposes any candidate for office. Its reports are intended to promote understanding and discussion of the federal budget and how specific policy proposals would affect the deficit") which today released an analysis on debt sustainability titled "The GOP Candidates and the National Debt." The answer is in the chart below.

Santorum vs. Paul - Pass It Along!
Submitted by Dither on Mon, 02/13/2012 - 17:01Ron Paul 2012
I typed this up after a family member told me he was leaning towards Santorum (he listens to talk radio). Feel free to use it with your own family, friends, etc.
Rick Santorum helped bring about the fiscal calamity that is destroying the United States. He was, and is, as much a part of the problem as Obama and the Democrats. Ron Paul, meanwhile, was and remains the lone, consistent voice of opposition to the big-spending, government-expanding schemes of both Republicans and Democrats. Santorum's path has led the country to ruin. If Dr. Paul's prescription had been followed, all of this could have been avoided. Here is the record.
As a U.S. Senator, Rick Santorum voted to raise the debt ceiling FIVE SIX TIMES. Ron Paul has opposed EVERY debt ceiling increase, and has NEVER voted for an unbalanced budget or tax increase.
Santorum voted to DOUBLE the size of the U.S. Department of Education. Ron Paul has always advocated ABOLISHING the Department of Education, as Ronald Reagan promised but never succeeded in doing.
Santorum supported the largest expansion of the welfare state since the 1960s, the Medicare Part D prescription drug benefit, which added a $16 TRILLION UNFUNDED LIABILITY to the national debt. Ron Paul has always opposed ALL federal interference in medicine -- even as a doctor, when he treated patients for free rather than accept Medicare and Medicaid payments from the government.
Santorum supports foreign aid, the process by which the U.S. government borrows money from China and uses it to bribe and prop up foreign governments (including China's), while taxing Americans to pay interest on the loans. Ron Paul has NEVER voted for foreign aid because, as he points out, it is not permitted by the Constitution, it is a bad idea, and, anyway, the U.S. government is broke.
Santorum was a vocal cheerleader for war against Iraq and voted for the authorization to use force, which left the final decision of whether or not to go to war in the hands of the president. As a result of the war, more than 4,000 American service members were killed and more than 30,000 were wounded. Untold numbers of Iraqi civilians died and Iraq's Christian community was decimated. The war cost more than $700 billion in direct appropriations and much more when the indirect costs (long-term treatment of wounded veterans, etc.) are factored in. Now, after a partial American withdrawal from Iraq (an embassy larger than the Vatican remains, along with high-paid military contractors), the different ethnic factions of that country are embroiled in a civil war. And all of this because of fear-mongering over non-existent weapons, based on fraudulent information.
Ron Paul saw the push for war against Iraq beginning right after 9/11, and issued many articles and statements against it. On September 4, 2002, just months before the war began, Paul addressed the House of Representatives: "Mr. Speaker; I rise to urge the Congress to think twice before thrusting this nation into a war without merit — one fraught with the danger of escalating into something no American will be pleased with." When it became clear that war was imminent, Paul introduced a resolution calling for a declaration of war, as required by the Constitution, although he intended to vote against it. This was blocked by other members of Congress, one of whom told Paul, "That part of the Constitution is anachronistic. We don't follow it anymore."
Now, after all the needless death and destruction wrought by the Iraq war, Santorum is leading the charge for another war of aggression based on dubious claims about weapons. And Ron Paul is, once again, counseling restraint and a return to the neutral foreign policy advised by America's founders.
There's more, sadly.
Santorum sided with big labor unions in opposing a national right-to-work law that would have protected workers from being forced to pay union dues. He supported federal housing programs and government-sponsored enterprises like Fannie and Freddie, which inflated the housing bubble, while Ron Paul warned -- as far back as 2001 -- that a bubble was forming and would eventually burst, and proposed legislation to eliminate the line of credit from the U.S. government to Fannie and Freddie.
Ron Paul has never taken a government-paid junket, has refused participation in the lucrative congressional pension plan, and returns a portion of his office budget each year to the U.S. Treasury. Santorum, on the other hand, collected $100,000 in taxpayer funds from the Penn Hills School District between 2001 and 2005 to pay for online courses for his home-schooled children. He did this by fraudulently claiming residency in Pennsylvania while he and his family actually lived in Washington, D.C.
If you support Santorum, don't act surprised when you end up with more of the same -- more big spending, debt, wars, lies and corruption. If you want real change -- if you REALLY believe in the principles of limited government enshrined in the Constitution -- then the choice is obvious. Go with the only candidate who has ALWAYS stood for these principles, through thick and thin, and oftentimes alone: Ron Paul.

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - Rep. Ron Paul spoke at the Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville as he makes a bid to become the next Republican nominee for president.
Supporters of the Texas senator lined up as much as three hours before the event and were enthusiastic as they packed the Pinnacle Center.
Paul delivered a speech consistent with his message, including his signature money policy. Supporters cheered and chanted "end the Fed" as Paul discussed eliminating the Federal Reserve.
Paul talked with 24 Hour News 8 Political Reporter Rick Albin about cutting $1 trillion from the federal budget, which he said he would do by closing foreign military bases, which he said would cut militarism but not defense.
He also said he would return to the 2006 budget line and get rid of automatic budget increases.
During his speech, Paul also said that he was optimistic that other are coming around to his way of thinking.
Paul is lagging in the polls behind former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum and former Mass. governor Mitt Romney. Santorum has been leading in the polls despite Romney's home-state advantage, but Romney has been making headway in a comeback.
Santorum, Romney and Paul each have more stops scheduled in Michigan as the Feb. 28 primary looms closer.
Santorum is expected to be at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids on election night to hear the numbers come in.
Newt Gingrich, who is also making a presidential bid, has largely been focusing his campaign on states that will vote on Super Tuesday.
24 Hour News 8 Political Reporter Rick Albin was at the Ron Paul event and will have more details later. Tune in to 24 Hour News 8 at 10 p.m. on WXSP and 11 p.m on WOOD.

Santorum says he doesn't believe in separation of church and state
Lee-Anne Goodman, The Canadian Press Feb 26, 2012 13:04:00 PM
WASHINGTON - Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum said Sunday that he doesn't believe in the separation of church and state, adding that he was sickened by John F. Kennedy's assurances to Baptist ministers 52 years ago that he would not impose his Catholic faith on them.
"I don't believe in an America where the separation of church and state is absolute," Santorum, a devout Catholic, said in an interview from Michigan on ABC's "This Week."
"The idea that the church can have no influence or no involvement in the operation of the state is absolutely antithetical to the objectives and vision of our country... to say that people of faith have no role in the public square? You bet that makes me want to throw up."
In another interview, this one on NBC's "Meet The Press," Santorum said the separation of church and state was "not the founders' vision."
"The First Amendment means the free exercise of religion and that means bringing people and their faith into the public square."
Santorum's latest foray into the hot-button, faith-based issues that so fire up the party's evangelical base comes as his chief rival for the Republican nomination, Mitt Romney, begins to pull ahead slightly in the state of Michigan, where he was born and raised.
Both Michigan and Arizona hold their primaries Tuesday.
While Romney's been battling Santorum in Michigan for the past two weeks, polls suggest he's got a comfortable lead in Arizona, a winner-take-all contest in terms of delegate allocation. Michigan's delegates, on the other hand, are rewarded based on results.
The former Massachusetts governor got a boost Sunday from Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who endorsed him as "the man that can carry the day" on "Meet The Press."
"He has that pro-business background, and he has that political history that I think he would serve America the best."
Brewer's endorsement is considered a boon to Romney's insistence that he's the toughest in the Republican field on illegal immigration. Brewer has been a fierce defender of her state's strict immigration policies, and Romney called Arizona a "model" on the issue in the last Republican debate.
Romney is a native son of Michigan, however, where his father served both as governor and a car company executive. A loss there would be regarded as devastating to his campaign.
Nonetheless, both Romney and Santorum have said they opposed the federal government's bailout of the auto industry in the state where thousands work for car manufacturers. Romney even penned a New York Times opinion piece four years ago with the headline: "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt."
Republican foes have seized upon that headline in advance of a speech by President Barack Obama on Tuesday to the United Auto Workers conference in Washington to celebrate "the rescue of Detroit."
The autoworkers plastered "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" on 26 American-made vehicles at a Romney event in Detroit on Friday.
Beyond Michigan, however, Santorum's startling stances on social issues like birth control and religion are getting the most attention countrywide.
He's been unapologetic about some of his more controversial remarks, even reiterating Sunday his past remarks that Kennedy's 1960 speech in Houston made "me want to throw up."
"To say that people of faith have no role in the public square? What makes me throw up is someone who is now trying to tell people that you will do what the government says," Santorum said.
"That now we're going to turn around and impose our values from the government on people of faith."
America is all about embracing diversity, he added.
"What we saw in Kennedy's speech was just the opposite, and that's what's so upsetting about it," he said.
He also defended his weekend remarks that Obama was a "snob" for suggesting all Americans should go to college.
"There are lot of people in this country that have no desire or no aspiration to go to college, because they have a different set of skills and desires and dreams that don't include college," Santorum said on ABC.
"And to sort of lay out there that somehow this should be everybody's goal, I think, devalues the tremendous work that people who, frankly, don't go to college and don't want to go to college because they have a lot of other talents and skills."

The rEVOLution to Restore the Republic arrived in OKC today! Estimates before he began speaking were above 3000 people. Organized by grassroots groups and the national campaign working in concert, a series of speakers highlighted Dr. Paul's message of Freedom and Liberty, prior to his arrival.
The first speaker of the day was Al Gerhart, who spent some time outlining strategy and inviting everyone to be involved. Mr. Gerhart is the State Coordinator of the National Campaign, a new role following up his efforts with the Sooner Tea Party.
Next up was Kaye Beach, activist extraordinaire, who spoke passionately on involvement in the process. Kaye is a tireless fighter for Liberty at the Oklahoma State Capitol. Her blog is AxXiom for Liberty.
Following Kaye was a rousing and welcoming speech by the Chairman of the Republican Party of Oklahoma, Matt Pinnell. Chairman Pinnell recognizes our mission to defeat Barrack Obama, and has been very fair to all of the campaigns in their efforts in Oklahoma. He has a difficult job balancing interests, and has managed to keep the peace very well.

State Representative Mike Christian, State Senator Ralph Shortey, and State Representative Charles Key all three spoke and endorsed (or have in the past) Congressman Paul. Rep. Key also read a message from 2010 GOP candidate for Governor and former State Senator Randy Brogdon in support of Dr. Paul.

Finally, Dr. Paul joined us to chants of "Ron Paul! Ron Paul! Ron Paul!" He delivered a non-telepromtered address covering the gamut of Freedom and Liberty. Speaking from the heart, he recounted the sad condition and erosion of our liberties, and the proud heritage they sprang from. His well received remarks, occasionally interrupted by thunderous cheers and applause, recounted his personal inspiration for entering politics and his efforts through these long years. As his supporters know, he has long been a lone voice in the wilderness, especially on such issues at the Federal Reserve, the IRS, and the tie between personal liberties and freedom.

BREAKING NEWS: Super Brochure Turns Out the Vote: Proof
Submitted by Dr.K.Research on Sun, 02/26/2012 - 23:27 Daily Paul Liberty Forum
The Super Brochure: A Key to Winning Elections
I contacted Curt Schultz at RonPaulProducts.com and asked for raw data on the South Carolina mailings. RonPaulProducts, of which I have no connection, freely gave me the data for the super brochure mailings. This was matched with the “official” precinct results from the Board of Elections.
This is the data for the precincts in the Greenville district of South Carolina. The super-saturated precincts are those where the ratio of brochures mailed to voters who turned out was at least 40%. The precincts were listed on a spread sheet in the order of lowest percent to highest. The percentage of voters in each precinct who voted for Ron Paul were simply added and then divided by the number of precincts. Here are the results, as follows:
40% to 50% ratio (54 precincts): 16.43%
50% to 60% ratio (60 precincts): 17.74%
60% to 70% ratio (7 precincts): 23.01%
70% to 80% ratio (9 precincts): 28.99%
100% (only one precinct): 35.29%
Average of these five group of percentages: 24.29%
These are the percentages of the total number of voters who voted for Ron Paul in each grouping of precincts. The precinct sizes varied, because that’s where the percentages fell. A clear trend is evident. With increasing saturation of the precincts there is a corresponding increase in the number of voters turning out at the polls and voting for Ron Paul. It would appear that supporters are not sending out enough super brochures. The results of the super-saturation are highly encouraging.
There has been a great deal of commentary on the Daily Paul regarding the Super Brochure. Numerous posters have condemned this marketing tool as ineffective. Worse, they even proclaim that it culls votes. In other words, such posters say, the brochure is harmful. That is a serious accusation. Are these repeating posters trying to stop the most effective tool we have to win votes for Ron Paul?
The data demonstrates that the brochure is highly effective—the opposite of these few posters’ undocumented claims. The normal response on direct mail is 1.5 to 2.0 percent. If the Super Brochure elicited this degree of response, it would be deemed a success, though a modest one. It did far better. On average it scored 11%. That is not merely statistically significant: it is massive.
Normally, a successful direct mail campaign fields a response of 2%. Says Chris Cardel of Taradell LLC, direct response experts: “For many industries a 1-3% response rate when mailing to prospects is normal and a 2%-5% response rate when mailing to current customers is normal.” He also notes that “Some response rates have been as low as 0.2%...”
Joe Masterson, MBA, says, “Typical responses I know of from general mailing lists are around .5-1% (max). The more targeted the list, and the better the offer the better the response rates. We hope for 5% response from a very targeted list.” If the Super Voter list meets such a specification, the Super Brochure achieved twice the highest hopes.
The big finding: the greater the saturation of the Super Brochure the greater is the results in bringing in new Ron Paul voters. The best results are when ALL the SuperVoters get it. It turns people on, and that's what we need.
Read more: http://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/qst_question.asp?qstID=8069...
Even so, this is a much greater response than merely filling in a form and/or making a call. These are people who took the time to leave their homes cast a ballot. Through this alone the brochure could be deemed a phenomenal success. It is an obvious proof that Dr. Paul’s message is timeless and that however it is presented, as long as it is true and accurate, positive results will occur.
These results are a direct marketer’s dream. It would appear that the claim that the super brochure is hurting the movement is now debunked. As time permits more data will be provided.
As this is being posted I laid a Super Brochure on a table. A 14 year-old picked it up, enamored by it, and read it in its entirety. Then, she said, turning to her mother, "Mom, look at this. This guy is amazing. He is from the heart." that's real wisdom--spontaneously from the heart of a child.
