Ron Paul to Hold Veterans Rally

Will address veterans in Spartanburg ahead of South Carolina debate

LAKE JACKSON, Texas The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today that Congressman Paul, an Air Force veteran, will hold an upbeat rally to honor our nation’s veterans.
The event will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 11:00 a.m. at the Summit Pointe Conference & Event Center, located at 805 Spartan Blvd. in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The event is free and open to the public.

“As a veteran himself, Ron Paul knows firsthand the issues facing our nation’s heroes,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“The fact that he continues to receive the most donations from active-duty military clearly demonstrates that our brave men and women support Dr. Paul’s mission to strengthen our national defense by ending these costly overseas wars, bringing our troops home, and defending America’s borders,” said Mr. Benton.

Event details are as follows. Time is Eastern.

Ron Paul National Campaign Chairman Blasts CBS News

Congressman Paul was only allocated 90 seconds of speaking in one televised hour.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton released the following statement concerning the CBS / National Journal Republican debate:

“Ron Paul consistently polls among the top three in the key early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire. He is polling in double digits in most respected polls.

“Congressman Paul is ranked among the top three in fundraising results.

“Congressman Paul serves on the House Foreign Relations Committee.

    “Congressman Paul is a veteran.

“And, Congressman Paul has contrasting views on foreign policy that many Americans find worthy of inquiry and discussion.
“CBS’s treatment of Congressman Paul is disgraceful, especially given that tonight’s debate centered on foreign policy and national security.

“Congressman Paul was only allocated 90 seconds of speaking in one televised hour. If we are to have an authentic national conversation on issues such as security and defense, we can and must do better to ensure that all voices are heard.
“CBS News, in their arrogance, may think they can choose the next president. Fortunately, the people of Iowa, New Hampshire, and across America get to vote and not the media elites.”

CBS News Doesnt Support the Troops

That is, if gauging the amount of time CBS News allotted each candidate during the televised portion of last nights Republican presidential debate compared to how much money our military donates to each candidate. This is not a scientific analysis but it doesnt exactly take a rocket scientist to figure out that Ron Paul got shafted on time last night (h/t RonPaulForums.com):

CBS foreign policy debate and troop donation statistics:

Paul - 1 question, 1 follow up, $113,739 from troops

Perry - 5 questions, 2 follow ups, $7,325 from troops

Gingrich - 5 questions, 1 follow up, $1,725 from troops

Cain - 5 questions, 1 follow up, $9,518 from troops

Romney - 4 questions, 1 follow up, $11,555 from troops

Santorum - 3 questions, 2 follow ups, $750 from troops

    Bachmann - 3 questions, $7,182 from troops

Huntsman - 2 questions, 1 follow up, $0 from troops

with the exception of Michele Bachmann being so low in the poll ... I am surprised the poll is this close; you think I'm kidding ... Why is Mitt Romney at 17.17%. He is a destroyer of jobs; not a maker of jobs... He worked for corporations that bought out companys and carved them up for a profit .. wheres the jobs.. GONE overseas .. wake up America

There is just something creepy about a candidate like Ron Paul who claims to be a Christian and says he can't say homosexuality is a sin, and says he has a problem with God judging homosexuality to be a sin.

Paul also says he saw a crying baby born alive by a c-section being thrown in a bucket to die. He just walked on down the hall.

If none of that makes a conserative cringe, nothing will.
Ron Paul in 2011 "[...]no amnesty should be granted. Maybe a 'green card' with an asterisk should be issued[...]a much better option than deportation."

Latest poll put Ron Paul in first-place tie

Posted by EU Times on Nov 15th, 2011

Less than two months before the Iowa caucuses occur — the next monumental step in the course of events leading up to the Republican Party makes their nomination for the presidency — Texas Congressman Ron Paul has taken the lead in the latest poll.

According to the results of the latest poll from Bloomberg News, Paul is neck-and-neck with pizzaman Herman Cain, with the two candidates coming in with 19 percent and 20 percent of the vote, respectively, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.

Former frontrunner and Texas Governor Rick Perry falls to place in the top three according to the latest poll, surely a result of last week’s slip-up during a televised debated hosted by CNBC. “We fish from the same pot as Perry sometimes,” campaign chairman Jesse Benton told Politico following Perry’s mistake last week, in which the candidate couldn’t come up with the three areas of government he intended to abolish as president of the United States. According to Paul’s camp, Perry posed quite the competition for the libertarian icon. With the Texas governor slipping in the polls, top-billing was open for Paul to pursue.

“For the first time in this race he looked comfortable and confident in giving answers, but none of that will be remembered. Instead we will remember him searching for words and relying on Ron Paul to bail him out,” Craig Robinson said after Perry’s disastrous debate slip-up in the Washington Post.

Paul resurgence comes despite a serious lack of attention from the mainstream media, who have time and time again downplayed the candidate’s campaign, instead offering coverage to other candidates such as Herman Cain and Mitt Romney. During last week’s debate, CNBC only awarded Paul 89 seconds to respond to questions during the televised portion of the event. According to the latest polling from Bloomberg, however, that might have been enough to give Paul the most powerful chance at the White House yet.

“If I were Romney and Perry, I would be thinking of a way to get Ron Paul off the stage because he is a distraction,” Republican strategist Bradley Blakeman explained to Fox Business in earlier in the race.

In Bloomberg’s latest polling, Paul also places first in support from likely Iowa caucus-goers in regards to his stance on healthcare. Congressman Paul collected 32 percent of the votes, with Mitt Romney coming in with only 25 percent.

Overall, Romney received 18 percent of the vote and Gingrich 17, creating a nearly neck-and-neck race for first place billing. Paul has previously won straw polls in Ohio, California and South Carolina. The caucuses in Iowa are slated to begin in early January
