So Who Is Behind The Ron Paul Attacks?

GINGRICH’S NEOCON THINK TANK BEHIND RON PAUL ATTACKS

The US State Dept funds a group called the FDD – Foundation for Defense of Democracies. This is a neocon think-tank where the Ron Paul attacks are originating. Specifically from a guy named James Kirchick. And guess who’s an advisor at FDD? Newt Gingrich.

google: Gingrich Skulking Behind Ron Paul Attacks
    Source: http://www.activistpost.com

Gingrich a “Distinguished Advisor” at Think-Tank Where Ron Paul Attacks Originated. Tony Cartalucci, Contributing Writer
    Activist Post

GOP presidential contender Newt Gingrich, a corporate-financier sponsored Council on Foreign Relations member also was a “distinguished advisor” at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD), a warmongering, Neo-Con think-tank and the architects of both the costly unending wars America has been fighting for the last 2 decades and the resulting war profiteering. The FDD is also the same think-tank from which attacks against Ron Paul are being launched via FDD “fellow” James Kirchick.

Image: A screenshot from FDD’s website featuring James Kirchick’s profile. Kirchick is leading an attack on GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul, falsely accusing him of being racist and “antisemitic.” The fact that Newt Gingrich, a contender in the GOP presidential race, is also involved with the FDD calls into question the integrity and legitimacy of the US State Department-funded FDD, Kirchick, and Gingrich himself. (click image to enlarge)

The FDD, perhaps in an attempt to maintain some sort of “plausible deniability” has removed Gingrich’s name from their organizational charts, however letters he signed as an FDD “distinguished advisor” can be found dated 2007-2008. The Land Destroyer Report had also cited throughout this year that Newt Gingrich was still an adviser at FDD, however the links are now dead.

Image: A screen shot from AEI’s website (accessed December 21, 2011) featuring Newt Gingrich’s profile which states he is an advisory board member of the FDD.

Compounding this immense conflict of interest and possible fraud, is the fact that Newt Gingrich is also a “former senior fellow,” and currently a “scholar” at the American Enterprise Institute which hosted a recent GOP presidential foreign policy debate. Gingrich’s biography on the AEI website also states that he is, “an advisory board member of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies,” suggesting that indeed, he is a current adviser at the FDD from which recent attacks on Ron Paul have originated.

s it then hypocrisy, or irony that FDD has on its leash a homosexual “journalist,” Kirchick, ceaselessly attacking Gingrich’s and other establishment GOP contenders’ only real competition, Ron Paul? Especially when Gingrich has used the issue of homosexuality as a political football throughout his career, including during his current presidential campaign?

Kirchick is described by the FDD as, “a leading voice on American gay politics and international gay rights, he is a contributing writer to the Advocate, the nation’s largest gay publication. Mr Kirchick is a recipient of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association Journalist of the Year Award.” Either Kirchick is disingenuous about his concerns for promoting the homosexual cause, or Gingrich and his Neo-Conservative peers are disingenuous in opposing it. At the end of the day, it isn’t about sexual orientation, it is about the pandemic of exploitative deceit and hypocrisy that infests America’s political establishment.

It would seem Gingrich’s “moral” views hold steady for as long as he is in front of the camera, and in reality is willing to work with anyone and do anything to climb up the sycophantic ladder of globalist elitism, at the cost of the principles he disingenuously peddles, and the well-intentioned people who foolishly invest their trust in him.

As one scratches just beneath the surface of this latest attack on Ron Paul, more seems to reflect back on those intent on defaming their competitors rather than besting them in the arena of ideas, issues, and principles.

Tony Cartalucci’s articles have appeared on many alternative media websites, including his own at Land Destroyer Report.

Bachmann Defector Rejects Claim of Being Bought Off by Paul Camp

    Published December 29, 2011
    | FoxNews.com

The former Michele Bachmann supporter who defected to the Ron Paul team this week said he was "never offered a nickel" by Paul's campaign, disputing the Minnesota congresswoman's claim that he was bought off.

Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson, who was a Bachmann Iowa co-chairman before he resigned Wednesday and endorsed Paul, accused Bachmann of fabricating a story about a conversation they had before he bolted. Bachmann had said in a radio interview Thursday that Sorsenson told her he was offered "a lot of money" by Paul's people.

Dec. 28, 2011: Iowa State Sen. Kent Sorenson speaks at a rally for Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul in Des Moines, Iowa.

"That's why he left," Bachmann said. She later repeated the claim in an interview on Fox News.

But Sorsenson told Fox News on Thursday "that conversation did not happen."

Asked if he was offered money to leave Bachmann, he said, "absolutely not." Rather, Sorenson cited past political support he received from Paul's people and said he jumped over to Paul to help him beat Mitt Romney at a critical time in the race.

"I gave (Bachmann) 110 percent. I believe we're at a time where Michele is not going to win Iowa," he said. "I decided that it was time to come to his aid and help put him over the top."

Sorsenson said it's "unfortunate" that Bachmann is making these claims, but said: "I did not accept any money from the Ron Paul campaign."

Bachmann and Sorenson, however, are adamant that their respective version of events is accurate. They've each brought out witnesses to back up their stories, in what has turned into an unusual campaign sideshow just days before the caucuses.

Bachmann first leveled the charge in a statement Wednesday, saying Sorenson was offered money to join the Paul camp.

"Kent Sorenson personally told me he was offered a large sum of money to go to work for the Paul campaign," Bachmann said in the statement. "Kent campaigned with us earlier this afternoon and went immediately afterward to a Ron Paul event and announced he is changing teams. Kent said to me yesterday that 'everyone sells out in Iowa, why shouldn't I?', then he told me he would stay with our campaign. The Ron Paul campaign has to answer for its actions."

Sorenson's former campaign manager Susan Geddes vouched for Bachmann's assertion that money was behind the move.

Geddes said on Fox News that Sorenson told her as early as March that Paul was offering him money to join the team.

Sorenson, though, flatly denied the charge. And Paul's campaign forwarded around a statement from a Bachmann campaign official saying Sorenson's decision "was in no way financially motivated."

"It was not the basis of his decision," Bachmann Iowa official Wes Enos said. Enos has since left the Bachmann campaign, according to a source.

Steve Deace, a friend of Sorenson, told Fox News that Sorenson has a long-standing relationship with Paul.

"The Paul people helped him, and really were the only ones who stood up for him in his two races," Deace said.

Fox News' Steve Brown contributed to this report.

Ron Paul the Only Candidate Who Will Cut Spending

    Reports The Daily Caller:

All Republicans running for president say they want to cut federal spending.

But a study the libertarian Cato Institute conducted by analyzing the candidates’ websites showed that most of them are light on details about specific cuts they would insist on as president.

The study’s author, Tad DeHaven, wrote in his “Guide to the Presidential Candidates’ Proposals to Cut Spending” that Texas Rep. Ron Paul stands out the most.

“When it comes to proposing specific spending cuts and identifying the dollars amounts, Paul’s website is unrivaled,” DeHaven explained.

“He is the only candidate to put together an actual budget proposal,” he said. “Paul’s spending proposals would amount to the largest reduction in the size and scope of the federal government of any candidate.”

Paul calls for getting rid of the Commerce, Education, Energy, Housing and Urban Development and Interior departments, while also making major cuts to the military. He also believes younger American citizens should be permitted to opt-out of Medicare and Social Security.

When it comes to front-runner Mitt Romney, DeHaven writes that only nine out of 87 pages of the former Massachusetts governor’s “Plan for Jobs and Economic Growth” are on fiscal policy.

“Those nine pages don’t offer much in the way of specific spending cuts,” he wrote. “Romney does suggest some good cuts, but they are not large in budgetary terms.

DeHaven reported that “spending cuts that Romney does specify are not easily found on his website. They are also relatively small cuts that would have little effect on the size and scope of the federal government…”

The rest of the column outlines how none of the Republican presidential candidates except Ron Paul would cut spending in any substantive way.

In Case You Missed It: Ron Paul Economic Plan Most Ambitious, Specific among those of His Competitors

“Paul’s spending proposals would amount to the largest reduction in the size and scope of the federal government of any candidate.” – Expert

    LAKE JACKSON, Texas
    – A story in the Daily Caller online publication recently highlighted a Cato Institute study singling out Ron Paul’s ‘Plan to Restore America’ as the most ambitious and serious spending-reduction and government-curtailing one of all his competitors.
