    Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

    in Politics
    Monday, May 21, 2012

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows President Obama earning 47% of the vote and Mitt Romney attracting 44% support. Five percent (5%) would vote for a third party candidate, while another five percent (5%) are undecided.

Matchup results are updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). See tracking history.

Fifty-one percent (51%) of voters believe the federal government is likely to go bankrupt before it ever balances the federal budget.

Voters typically see competition as the best way to reduce prices and may be heading in that direction to address the cost of prescription medications. If the FDA denies approval for a particular drug, 52% believe state governments should be able to overrule the federal agency and approve sale of that drug within its borders.

Sixty-four percent (64%) prefer fewer government services and lower taxes.Scott Rasmussen’s new book, The People’s Money, shows how voters would implement these goals and balance the budget. The book also shows how America’s Political Class is more interested in pursuing its own agenda rather than listening to voters.

In addition to the daily tracking updates, Rasmussen Reports releases results on the Obama-Romney matchup based upon a full week’s worth of survey interviews. This week-by-week basis provides a larger sample of 3,500 Likely Voters to reduce statistical noise and eliminate any possible day-of-the-week bias. The full week numbers also are useful for reviewing trends in the race. For most of the past few months, the candidates have been just a point or two apart in the week-by-week numbers. This information is available for subscribers along with more than 20 exclusive stories per week. Sign up now and receive all the information for less than a dollar a week. Platinum Members can also review demographic crosstabs for the presidential race and other data.

(President Obama’s Job Approval Ratings Below)

A president’s Job Approval rating is one of the best indicators for assessing his chances of reelection. Typically, the president’s Job Approval rating on Election Day will be close to the share of the vote he receives. Currently, 50% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president's job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) at least somewhat disapprove (see trends).

Just 20% of homeowners expect the value of their home to go up this year, while 24% expect the opposite. Looking longer term, only 47% believe the value of their home will go up over the next five years.

Check out our review of last week’s key polls to see “What They Told Us.”

Scott Rasmussen’s weekly syndicated newspaper column shows that Republicans and Democrats have wildly different expectations as to how the economy will perform between now and Election Day. As a result, they have wildly different expectations of who will win the White House.

If you’d like Scott Rasmussen to speak to your organization, meeting, or conference, please contact Premiere Speakers. The Wall Street Journal has called him “America’s leading insurgent pollster,” and The Washington Post says Scott is a “driving force in American politics.”
To get a sense of longer-term Job Approval trends for the president, Rasmussen Reports also compiles our tracking data on a full month-by-month basis.
    (Daily Approval Index Updates Below)

Intensity of support or opposition can have an impact on campaigns. Currently, 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Obama is performing his role as president. Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove, giving him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -13 (see trends).

During midterm elections, intensity of support can have a tremendous impact on turnout. That was demonstrated in 2010 when Republicans and unaffiliated voters turned out in large numbers to express opposition to the Obama administration’s policies. However, in presidential election years, there is a smaller impact on turnout.

Rasmussen Reports is a media company whose work is followed by millions on a wide variety of platforms. We regularly release our results at RasmussenReports.com, through a daily email newsletter, a nationally syndicated radio news service, an online video serviceand a weekly newspaper column distributed by Creators Syndicate. A nationally syndicated TV show--What America Thinks--is scheduled for launch in September 2012.

Our firm has been a pioneer in the use of automated telephone polling techniques, but many other firms still utilize their own operator-assisted technology (see methodology). Pollsters for Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton have cited our "unchallenged record for both integrity and accuracy."

During Election 2008, Rasmussen Reports projected that Barack Obama would defeat John McCain by a 52% to 46% margin. Obama was 53% to 46%. In 2004, Rasmussen Reports was the only firm to project the vote totals for both candidates within half a percentage point. Learn more about the Rasmussen Reports track record over the years.

Daily tracking results are collected via telephone surveys of 500 likely voters per night and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from a demographically diverse panel. The margin of sampling error for the full sample of 1,500 Likely Voters is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Results are also compiled on a full-week basis and crosstabs for full-week results are available for Platinum Members.

Like all organizations that conduct public opinion polls, Rasmussen Reports weights its data to reflect the population at large (see methodology). It is important to remember that the Rasmussen Reports job approval ratings are based upon a sample of likely voters. Some other firms base their approval ratings on samples of all adults. Obama's numbers are almost always several points higher in a poll of adults rather than likely voters. That's because some of the president's most enthusiastic supporters, such as young adults, are less likely to turn out to vote.

Among other targets, Rasmussen Reports weights data by political party affiliation using a dynamic weighting process. While partisan affiliation is generally quite stable over time, there are a fair number of people who waver between allegiance to a particular party or independent status. Our baseline targets are established based upon separate survey interviews with a sample of adults nationwide completed during the preceding three months (a total of 45,000 interviews) and targets are updated monthly. Currently, the baseline targets for the adult population are 35.8% Republicans, 33.0% Democrats, and 31.2% unaffiliated. Likely voter samples typically show a slightly larger advantage for the Republicans.

Romney Fraud at Arizona GOP convention

“They took a bunch of our winners off and then stuck on a bunch of their losers. At first they had a total of 58 elected, most of them were ours. Then it all turned.” – Shawn Dow, Ron Paul State Coordinator.

According to many sources, Ron Paul supporters won a clean democratic majority of the delegates at the recent Arizona State GOP convention but Mitt Romney had an advantage that in the end the Ronulans could not match. Romney had Nathan Sproul, a political operative who was famously accused of voter registration fraud during the last election cycle.

    Read:

“Accused of massive voter registration fraud in several states.”

    More on voter registration fraud.

“Team Bush paid millions to Nathan Sproul and then tried to hide it.”

Remember, the Ron Paul forces were ready to give a majority of the delegates to the Mitt Romney campaign. Nathan Sproul rejected that offer. (See Arizona victory.) Why accept a gift if you can wait and take it violently later?

I warned you about a sealed box that was taken from the State Convention and how the votes were not a done deal. Then there is the manipulation of the numbers of the delegation already voted upon.

Arizona, as a “Mormon State” was moved up early so that party favorite, Mitt Romney, could have a win. As such, it was necessarily punished for breaking GOP rules and its delegate count was diminished.

The Arizona GOP establishment would normally seek to restore Arizona’s full 59 delegates. But since most of the new delegates are Ron Paul supporters, it decided to accept its punishment and keep to the lesser number, where Mitt Romney leads.

But there is so much more. Like 100 ballots that got added when the sealed box was opened the next day. Said Ron Paul coordinator, Shawn Dow, “They took a bunch of our winners off and then stuck on a bunch of their losers.”

    Join the discussion here.

And then, hear about ballot stuffing in Arizona.

    More to come.

On the May 20 Sunday edition of the Alex Jones Show, Alex covers the global elite on the run as the establishment media is forced to report on the Bilderbergers and their noxious plan to finally unfold a devastating attack on Iran, undermine the internet with government censorship, and sell the public on more trillions in bankster bailouts and punitive carbon taxes under the discredited cover of saving the earth. Alex talks about the continued and long overdue outing of Kenyan-born Obama the imposter and the G8 war council in Chicago that has transformed the Windy City into a repressive police state where political activists disappear and patsies are set-up as terrorists to further the manufactured war on terror and its Orwellian control grid.

Michigan State Republican Convention - 9th District Caucus 21 - Dennis Marbuger - Best Speech Ever?

Over the weekend, Michigan had its state convention and several Paul supporters became delegates/alternates. We were all to give introductory speeches in our districts. Usually 2-3 minutes was what we were given. The following speech, in opinion, was one of the best..you decide.

Ron "Paul Fest" Gains More Celebrities! Country Stars Burns and Poe Make Huge Announcement!

    Ron Paul 2012

In this interview with event spokesman Josh Tolley!

"Burns & Poe is country-soaked, adrenaline-driven, fun-lovin’, on the rocks entertainment that makes for a don’t-blink, hold-tight, roller-coaster-of-a-ride, live show. The best part…it’s 100% pure Burns & Poe.

Described as the Sonny & Cher of Country, Burns & Poe perform side-by-side, bantering back and forth with playful jibs and jabs, and sharing vocal talents that are equally identifiable, splitting their performances right down the middle."

"Burns is a founding member of the Grammy-nominated, gold recording trio Trick Pony, who won both an American Music Award and an Academy of Country Music Award. Burns has also penned songs recorded by Joe Diffie, Hootie & The Blowfish, Sammy Kershaw, Anita Cochran and Trick Pony (who scored three Top 20 and two Top 10 singles on the country charts).

Poe, formerly a Dreamworks recording artist, has been an integral part of national touring bands, singing backup and playing bass to lock in the rhythm section behind the likes of international acts Dierks Bentley and Hank Williams, Jr.

In 2007, the two made official introductions at an audition for the Trick Pony leading lady; Poe landed the gig. In what seemed to be just moments later, the trio disbanded…leaving the door wide open for the creation of Burns & Poe

Burns & Poeis a “Tequila Sunrise.” Sweet, syrupy grenadine with the tang of a fresh-picked orange is the lovely and bubbly Michelle Poe. Her silky smooth vocals lend a woman’s touch to the songs she and Burns write and perform together.

Keith adds the burn to the mix with a hot but “goes down easy” raspy voice and charisma reminiscent of The Eagles, Don Henley with a twist of Mellencamp for an added punch.

Shaken or stirred, the pairing of seasoned artists is a combustible combination straight up! Their magical songwriting chemistry mixed with their authentic musical talents make for an all-natural, highly intoxicating concoction.

Burns & Poe signed with Blue Steel Records in 2009 and have been on the road performing at shows from coast to coast. Since Keith Burns and Michelle Poe came together in 2006, they’ve secured a variety of sponsors including Taylor Guitars, Peavey Guitars, Dan Post Boots, Silpada Designs and Crow’s Nest Trading Company."

    Welcome to Burns & Poe

We'll see you at - Paul Festival 2012 - Tribute to Ron Paul and Grassroots Activism - Home - we go public with our plans in a big way tomorrow!

Major Tea Party Announcement in NJ!

    Submitted by NJ539er on Mon, 05/21/2012 - 16:43
    Ron Paul 2012

    May 21st, 2012 | For Immediate Release

A Statement from Tea Party Groups of New Jersey

Monmouth County Tea Party Coalition | Ocean County Citizens For Freedom | Bayshore Tea Party Group | Tea Party of Middlesex County

No longer will we be forced by both political parties and the media to choose between the lesser of two evils. We say, not on our watch will we ever give in to this sort of tyranny again. This game ends right here, right now! Endorsing Mitt Romney and his record of left-leaning policies would be a complete hypocrisy that collides with everything the Tea Party Movement stands for.

So, it is with great pleasure and honor that We of the above mentioned Tea Party Groups of New Jersey, announce our full endorsement of Dr. Ron Paul for President of The United States of America 2012. Dr. Paul's 20+ year voting record as an ardent constitutional conservative speaks profoundly of his integrity both as a representative of the people and as a human being. Dr. Paul's message of Limited Constitutional Government and Individual Liberty is what motivated the Tea Parties into action to begin with and this message will continue to resonate within our movement until America is restored to her former glory and is once again a beacon of freedom.

We choose to stand by our principles rather than to sell our souls to the game of politics because this is what Ron Paul has done consistently his entire political life and we expect nothing less of ourselves.

We are committed to serving our communities by demanding accountability and responsible governing from our elected officials and restoring our country to a constitutional, limited government
